Bad experience with assurance. Stressful. Only had phone a few days.it was gov. Free phone but I couldn't talk on it because the phone and carrier was so bad. Couldnt hear and other party couldn't hear me taking to them. Customer service real bad. What good is a free phone if you can't talk on it? I wanted transfer my number back that I had for years because of their service and they canceled my service because of that.

Phone Compatibility
September 14, 2023

It seems that only phones bought from Assurance are compatible with their service. I bought a new unlocked phone from Amazon, and was told that only phones bought through the Assurance website are compatible.
My advice is to NOT use Assurance wireless for your ACP provider.

Look elsewhere
December 16, 2020

My original phone was locked and could not be used. Spent all of an afternoon wading through one representative after another, some of whose English was difficult to undeerstand. I was told another phone would be sent. Two weeks later the phone had not arrived and when I called and waded through more representatives was told the 2nd phone had not been ordered and the 2nd one would be sent, It never was and I called a third time and had to talk again and explain all over again. DO NOT USE this company!

Slave Phone
October 29, 2021

Assurance Wireless provides a slave clone phone to the unknowningly general public(black phone) and a master clone phone (white) to the Mafia-Taliban domestic criminal network terrorist operative. The master clone phone has total capability over the slave clone phone and with cyber attacks that cause spooky operation, multiple account and software operating system changes that keep the slave relearning how to operate the slave clone phone. Sending important emails to outbox that will not send and can not be recovered. Queued is another cyber attack that prevents sending emails that also go to the outbox. The Mafia-Taliban operative uses "Near By Share" that is undetectable by antivirus software. You have to use the share feature to detect the shared device (master clone phone) and sign it out.

It's an okay company
November 1, 2017

Assurance Wireless is okay but not that great. The phone I received is a ZTE N817 phone. Pretty small. But the phone constantly freezes when I try to make calls and browse the internet, closes out of apps for no reason and won't even let me end calls. I end up having to press the end button more than once.
I didn't have to pay for the phone, since I get food stamps (EBT) and I have Medical Assistance. I currently receive 350 minutes, 500 MB of internet, and unlimited texting.

Assurance Wireless Fraud
March 31, 2023

Assurance wireless refuses to service lifeline service to New York State customer. After more than a year of writing emails, and phone calls to assurance wireless, assurance wireless refuses to replace a damaged phone covered under the lifeline service contract with New York State.
Breach of contract with New York State, and interstate fraud requiring secondary payment from lifeline customers which New York State has already paid for.
Assurance wireless needs to be reported to New York State authorities for breach of contract, and also requires reporting to the federal bureau of investigation for interstate fraud.

Please be aware Assurance Wireless has a man named Joe with a man with him, knocking on doors in watertown ny without a mask, he refused to let me close my door literally put his foot in it so i could not close it, this happened today, When they were told to leave by me and my landlord and not come back him as well as the man with him became aggressive and informed me they were working, do not let these people service you or even open a door for them, they did nothing to fix their worker being threatening to me,

Signed up for the free phone/minutes plan as advertised on TV last month, NEVER received product, Rep entered incorrect info onto my application form (which i applied over phone with...>>) they refused to make changes to info, never sent phone, refused to send new phone to CORRECT address, refused to transfer me to a supervisor to fix problem, non of anyone i spoke to spoke fluent english, they even refused to cancel my account! This whole deal is aimed at low income persons looking for assistance with obtaining phone service, so just be aware if your looking to enroll in this "program". Ive contacted the BBB and filed an official complaint already.

They canceled my service even after I called them a week ago to confirm my service will not be terminated. Each time I called in, I got a different story from their representatives who speak broken English with a very very heavy accent which is impossible to understand. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
October 29, 2019

Is your crappy service due to wanting or expecting us to upgrade? If so, you can take this piece of poop of a phone back. If you are all about helping your customers try hiring someone to read these reviews and start brainstorming on how to fix these SIGNIFICANT problems. It literally takes almost 20 minutes to get a connection (on wifi) for my messages to send and sometimes even longer to receive them. Assurance/Q-Link and any other Lifeline Company should be ashamed of themselves. I'm ashamed I stooped low enough to put my information (which they still do not have corrected) out there to get a generic phone that doesn't work. But hey! I guess you get what you paid for. Since this was a free service, free phone then the service should be crappy as all get out! I swear as soon as I am able to get another phone I AM THROWING THIS ONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET! It just may work better. Lol

I am enrolled but to get unlimited I had to call was told no problem, and a month later I still don't have unlimited. They lie to you. After 5 phone calls I am starting to realize that the agents you speak with in another country are asking for 10$-5$ extra for what is supposed to be free.DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY,this is not only crooked but ilegal! If this has happened to you report them to
Federal Communication Commission's Consumer Complaint Center.
They are profiting off of the poor for personal gain.

Lying Leeches
January 3, 2023

I've had assured wireless for about a year now and when I went to recertify all my information I was assured by a supervisor that I didn't have to do anything since I was in the state of California and that I was going to get a new phone within 7-10 business days. That was back on 11/13/22. Not only did I not receive the new phone but they completely changed their story and now I have to do their job for a free service. They are rude, they don't keep track of anything (IE putting notes on accounts, etc) they are very RUDE and love to argue with you because apparently they think they know more than you they refuse to help unless you do their job for them. I wish I never got the service in the first place

Absolutely pathetic
September 20, 2022

Assurance wireless caters to a bunch of homeless people(go to assurance wireless website and see the reviews from mostly homeless) who are either a drug addict or a drunk that don't know any better than this $#*! backwards so called lifeline phone svce.

Assurance wireless can't even fix an issue with my FDIC sending validation texts so I can make changes to my checking account without having to walk up a hill a mile plus to my bank to do it.

There's also this myhypermedia dot com nonsense that no matter what site you visit you get annoying popups from and it's taboola, yahoo related nonetheless the crapware the phone installs upon activation that you can't uninstall at all.

It's also government spy hardware. Take a look at the certificate credentials installed by default.

It's not Obama phone anymore, it's $#*! backwards republican phone now.

Hey assurance wireless, get a life okay?

Because you suck!

Supervisor still "busy"?
July 15, 2020
Updated review

A day later and the Supervisor who was "busy" yesterday still hasn't called. TMobile must have bought this crappy company because the Government contract is secure whether they are efficient or not.

Date of experience: July 15, 2020

I just got off the phone with Assurance(now t-mobile) customer service, AGAIN. I have a plan with 1000 minutes, unlimited texts, and NO internet. I told them I don't need or want the internet data, but I need the minutes and texts for work. Well, once again they changed my plan without telling me to a plan with 350 minutes, texts, and 3 GB of internet data. They just can't seem to understand someone who doesn't want or need the internet on their phone. It doesn't help that their customer service is in Columbia and every other person I talk to doesn't have a mastery of the English language. To make it worse, after they admit their mistake they say they can't fix it until the FOLLOWING month, but they suggest I BUY minutes from them to keep my service until next month. WHAT A JOKE.

This company needs to disassociate themselves with the philippines! These folks ALWAYS give inaccurate information! They are getting a paycheck for not doing their jobs! It is SICKENING, PATHETIC & DISGUSTING! We're OUTTA HERE! HOPEFULLY an AMERICAN BASED COMPANY will serve us MUCH BETTER with MUCH BETTER RESULTS!
