I called the facilities and some facilities contacted me in order to make appointment to view the facility. Everyone was nice to talk to even when I had already made my decision.
They gave me 3 places to look at for my friend. I loved the first one 5 minutes from my house. I signed up with the facility only to hear that they charge the first month as a fee for using this service. I did not know the facility pays so much when I did all the running around. That is way too much money charged for their service. Would not recommend this to anyone.
Service was great, our process was a couple of years, and we did find the best place for our mom
The experience has been stellar. Cannot complain regarding the service.
When you are "in the weeds" and trying to make the innumeral decisions necessary to help an aging family member, this service is invaluable. Timely, relevant and easy way to narrow down choices for Assisted Living.
We needed to find an assisted living facility for our 97 year old mother in a very short timeframe and didn't even know where to start. After speaking with Ashley Erdman for over 30 minutes about our mother's needs, she identified a number of places for us to visit and even scheduled the tours for us. Ashley was extremely helpful and responsive and really helped us navigate through the process. We found a great place for mom and she's settling in well.
I did an interview of what my parents needed. They create a profile which is useful and shared with facilities so that you don't have to retell the story. You then schedule a visit with the facilities. That's where "A Place for Mom" stops.
What I had to learn on my own was extensive: Definitions of Independent Living, Assisted Living, Pallative Care, Long Term Care insurance, Veterans Aid & Attendance. Ask about transportation, in-facility care, meals (or meal allowances) vs. costs, non-refundable "community charge", rent increases, notification of leaving, waiting lists, pets, smoking, parking, second resident fees, grills on balconies, cable/internet, community vs. list of activities (do the seniors interact?), gardening, field trips, shopping, in-facility doctors/nurses/beauty parlor/scheduled care.
My family needed to find a place quickly for my husband who could no longer live in independent living.
Danielle O`Malley gave us a list of places that we found suitable on the first try. Unfortunately, my husband needed more care than we originally thought but each time we contacted A Place for Mom through Danielle we recieved good reliable information quickly.
Tameka was very helpful in helping me find a place for my mother. The list of options matched what I had researched on my own, which assured me in making a final decision. I could have saved time if I had called earlier, and have recommended the service already. My mother just moved in this week.
Great service and good follow up. Thanks for your care.
We were looking for a place within a limited area. We narrowed down the recommendations because of that. Within that range we had four excellent options. We were able to preview the organizations online and use the Place for Mom guidelines to evaluate.
My experience with this service has been delightful. They understand and are equipped to help you find the best possible placement for your loved one.
I called and was contacted by Erika. She was very helpful in finding a place for my uncle. She planned all the tours. All we had to do is show up and tour the places. It was easy and simple. I would recommend this to anyone in need. Very helpful.
Connie Engel was knowledgeable, caring and very supportive. She guided me through a great deal of mazes to get to our home. I couldn't have done it without her and I very much appreciate her help.
I was in need of help for my 97-year-old relative and had contacted local healthcare providers with no real results. I had seen the commercials for a Place for Mom and thought I'd give them a try. Well, I could not be more impressed with the speed in which they contacted me and how they helped me find a solution. Initially, I did not think they did in home care, but I was delighted that they had contacts that I did not even know about in my area. Jon, my Place for Mom consultant, was caring and efficient. He even put me in contact with a VA support group that also contacted me. Finally, all this service and the cost was $0! I am so grateful to a Place for Mom for guiding me to a place where I can breathe a bit easier getting the help I needed. I highly recommend this service.
Great people to work with. Plenty of information to help you along the way.
The group is always checking in on how my mom's doing. Very good suggestions for places to stay.
They stayed in constant contact offering the help I needed to make my decision. Even after moving into our own home we were contacted offering help if needed.
Had a great experience working with Emma Radulski. She was very kind and understanding and helped me find a great assisted living place for my grandmother.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
