When I first called a place for mom and was put in touch with Dana/Jennifer I thought I hit the jackpot. I explained to them I was thrown into a situation to find my sister suitable placement without any knowledge of the whole system. Dana spent a lot of time explaining stuff to me and helping. When it came time for my sister to be released and go to assisted living, they physically went out and visited properties for me as I worked full-time and traveled. I relied on their judgment and their truthfulness when discussing fees as I was upfront about what her budget would allow. After my sister was placed, and I was getting ready to move her into the facility, I found out about an activity fee that was definitely unbudgeted and had no foreseeability of. The place also charged for med management as well as any shower assistance she might need. After all of this the final monthly charge was well over $1000 over budget, but clearly too late to do anything about. I let Dana know I was very unhappy at the lack of truthfulness about the entire expense/fee situation when she knew specifically I had no knowledge dealing with this environment. I would definitely not recommend this service, especially if you have no knowledge in this environment. It would've been better for me to have called each place and found that out on my own.
I contacted A Place For Mom about trying to find an independent living community for my brother. Yvette and I talked and from our discussion she provided me with 5 choices that met my criteria. She explained that if none of the five were not what we wanted, that she could provide more suggestions. We visited four of the five and decided on the one that most fit our needs. Thank you to Yvette and A Place For Mom.
A Place for Mom helped me find a place for my in-laws. I told them what we needed and they led me to the exact spot that met our requirements. They also helped me realize how we were going to pay for it. They educated us and made our decision much easier.
Extremely quick response. I was desperate for quick help and in a short period of time we had choices of ALS. Found one we love and everything worked out well
I have found that I could not have gone thru this without the help I was given. I highly recommend a place for mom for anyone needing assistance in finding a place for a loveone.
My experience with A place for Mom was excellent Mike Campbell the agent was very helpful I would like to add one thing that maybe you should put something on there about help for fathers also thank you
When my mother and I discussed senior living I had no idea how to move forward. A friend suggested A Place for Mom and within minutes of filling out their web forms I was in contact with them. From that momem on Chris was instrumental in helping me find the best place for my mom, negotiate terms and price and lead me through a difficutl and emotional change for my mother.
After contacting A Place for Mom, the information started flowing. I received lots of calls, lots of emails, etc. I only wanted places that were within a 10-minute drive, so I only toured three facilities, one of which I had seen three years ago, and that is the facility we ended up going to for my mother. The process of finding a place that you feel confident in is a daunting experience - it was good to have some help with this.
We were coming from out of state to find memory care for a relative. A Place for Mom gave us a list to start to work from. They guided us before we entered a facility. And they checked after for our opinions on what we saw. They gave us excellent advice about what to look for. We could not have done this search without their help. We absolutely recommend starting this journey with them. They gave us advice about each of our searches as if it was from a mom. They gave frank advice. We heard about them on TV but they were invaluable in helping us make the correct placement for our relative. Again, they were instrumental in helping us navigate this difficult decision. But we are totally confident we made the right one for our family with their help.
This is the second time I have had to reach out to A Place for Mom. The first time was nearly two years ago when I was seeking assistance finding an Assistive Living home for my mother. They responded quickly and effectively. They arranged appointments and kept in touch.
Now, I am looking for a nursing home and called A Place for Mom again. Once again, they came through with excellence and efficiency. Thank you for your help in this most stressful time.
When I was randomly tasked with finding a home for my mom that I hadn't spent time with in 30 years, I had no idea what to do. She has dementia and very little money. A Place for Mom was able to set up tours and gave me a list of places she could afford. She found a home within 2 weeks and is very happy there. I am so thankful for the help I got from A Place for Mom. Thank you!
A Place for Mom was great in helping me find a board and care for my Aunt. They always followed up and were there if I needed anything.
When I first contacted A Place for Mom (APFM), I was inundated with phone calls, and emails. Since we weren't ready to use the service, the calls and emails tapered off. Occasionally, I'd get an email and that was fine. I couldn't locate contact information when we were ready to find a place. I got an email asking if I needed someone to contact me. I thankfully replied, YES. This happened twice but NO RESPONSE. I waited for about 2 months and no contact. We had contacted one of the places A Place for Mom recommended before APFM, so we contacted them directly. THEN APFM contacted us. As far as I'm concerned A Place for Mom didn't do anything for us.
I'm sure this helps many people and I still think it could be a good service.
Kelly was very helpful with leading me to best facility Taylored for my father's needs after having 2 strokes & in need of placement in facility that could help my Dad heal from all the turmoil & unpleasant experiences in the hospital & nursing facility he was in after the strokes. So with Kelly guidance and listening to the urgency of my Dad's situation my Dad is in a wonderful memory care assisted living place called Arden Courts in Chagrin Falls that has been a lifesaver for him
A Place for Mom was beyond helpful. They found out what I was looking for in a place for my mom and sent me a list of facilities that would meet my needs. I was able to set up tours and make my final decision very quickly. My coordinator checked in often to see how I was doing and see if I needed any further help. They provided a lot of additional information covering things I would not have thought of. This is the second time they have helped me, they previously helped me with my dad. I highly recommend A Place for Mom, they provide a wealth of information and are so helpful in a time that can be scary and very stressful.
A Place For Mom was exceptional, proactive with great follow up. I highly recommend letting them help you navigate the confusing world of senior care.
Erin was great. Provided me with lists of places for my friend. Made it a lot easier finding a place for her needs.
Google ocala assisted living answered some questions. Received a call right away from a place for mom and was put thru to another agent who asked questions about what we were looking for. He booked a tour for us right away. All involved were pleasant and courteous. Not pushy very helpful
Still waiting for responses to tailor and narrow to search to more specifically meet needs.
We needed to find a facility with very little notice. I contacted A Place For Mom and immediately received a phone call. I was given multiple options that fit our criteria and they even made appointments for me. Because of their assistance we were able to find a place for our mother the same day! We are so greatful.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
