Associate Jason E stole my credit card info and turned a $275 purchase into a series of fraudulent charges totaling almost $2000. Absolute JOKE of a company - shop elsewhere! There are far too many reputable businesses to support this crime ring.
Great for getting new gear upfront with EZ payment options. I have used them for years and have ordered ton's of gear.
I usually don't leave bad reviews because I've worked retail and especially around the holidays it can suck, but this really pissed me off. I have never bought from American Musical Supply before and won't again. I chose them because of their supposed no credit check financing. Everything seemed to be set up easily enough, my son wants a guitar for Christmas and I thought I had it all taken care of. I went on my account to check the status and see its all been cancelled. I looked through my other emails and received nothing from the company so I thought it was a mistake. No, its not. When I called I was informed that their credit department somehow decided I was a risk and just cancelled my order. No call or email. All I got from customer service was, "oh, you should of gotten an email" What crap customer service, definitely stay away
I have tried to change password and still can't log in, so I won't be buying from you. It is very frustrating to need something and then no matter how hard you try you cannot log in to account. I give up on you!
Good people over the phone when inquiring about product wish I knew that they were going to charge me to return my order. I have ordered front them before but will be shopping order dealers before AMS.

I have made thousands of dollars of purchases over the years and never had an issue,always answered my question...so service and customer care was paramount in my shopping...they have great selections and prices are very comparative in the market I'm cheap 👍😂🤣but savey so check them out i recently bougjt a couple guitars and a nice special edition. Boss pedal and all received...perfect as usual
I have been a customer of AMS for many years. For the most part I have had good luck with them but the problem is in their website. I cannot go online and make a payment in advance due to their payment section of their web site. I have emailed them and they really do not care if anyone likes it or not. Once I get my bill paid down I dont think I will go back. I can go to zZounds and make a payment with ease, no worries. No such luck at AMS.
I've been using American Musical for years never had one problem never had to send anything back always got what I ordered within two or three days it is always boxed up the correct way I bought two drum sets everything was just like it was supposed to be I will never go anywhere else cuz no one can beat their prices

I've been a guitarist for 30 years now, and I've been an AMS customer for over 5 years. I've bought a dozen guitars under their payment plan and have zero problems. It's true that some of their sales reps are friendlier than others, but I've actually never been treated badly. I see complaints online about transaction problems, but if you UNDERSTAND the arrangements and make sure funds are available at the right times, there should be no problems. Their payment plans are pretty simple, but some people just don't get it.
A good tip is; when calling these reps, speak to them how you would want to be spoken to. They're just working for a living too. I'll continue to shop at AMS for all of my guitar gear.
I bought a guitar from AMS the tremolo did not work right so I returned it well within the time limit they sent me a shipping label and I sent it UPS about a week later I called to see if they had received it they said yes and my refund for my first payment of $132 would be sent to my bank within 5 to 7 days then a few days later they removed $1,459 from my bank account which is the full price of the guitar that they now have I immediately found a dispute and closed my bank account I'm still trying to get the money back that is fraud and illegal and they are Crooks apparently according to their reviews this is common business practice for them I never agreed to pay out the guitar in full I had sent it back to them more than a week earlier CROOKS
Ordered guitar February 2023. Backordered. 6 months later, email with notice of expired CC on file. Need to call to resolve. 5 hours later, called to update my expiration date. Too late. My guitar had been issued to the next person on line. Called to get details, Collin (sales) said my order had to be cancelled and put back in the queue. Then hung up on me. Collin couldn't take the heat. Went on a search. George's Music Store had 2 in stock & hooked me up on the spot with free shipping. American Musical Supply should be more like George's. AMS is a bit of a $#*! show. BUY FROM GEORGE'S!

I recently tried to purchase some merchandise from AMS. Two speaker bags that I was patting for with my debit card. After making the purchase, I received an email a few minutes later saying my order had been canceled! It also said my pay as I go had been denied. First off I paid outright so this seemed odd, so I contacted customer service to inquire as to why my order had been canceled. They then go on to tell me I had a past unpaid credit account that had to be paid first. I informed they guy I had NEVER ordered from AMS before. After a few minutes of back and forth he still tried to convince me that I had. I said well you canceled the order I'll try and find what I want somewhere else. This morning I received an email From *******@americanmusical.com telling me they had charged my card for the disputed unpaid account and I could now place my order! Wait! What? I informed JasonE that he had no permission or authorization to charge my card for anything and what they did was against the law. JasonE then tried to tell me it was legal and told me there would be no further need for communication. That's what he thought. His transaction was blocked after I sent the emails to my bank. This was my first and last time dealing with these clowns! You can't just charge people without authorization!
So American Music Supply told me the orders I attempted to make on credit were canceled bc I first had to purchase an item between 80-100 so called back before I made the purchase and the 2nd guy said the same which I recorded. I purchased the kick pedal, then today tried to make the same purchase on credit and it was again canceled so I called customer service and told them to which I basically got them to say oh well!, the system usually works like that! But I requested a refund and to return the pedal. The guy gave me the return number to write on the box and said the shipping would be 9.59 to which I enquired how much was the shipping to begin with and he said nothing. Well isn't that convenient for them. If this happens with a dozen or so people a month, they would be making 110-120 a month. After explaining this to the guy and saying it's either convenient or a scam on their fault his response was ummm it wasn't intentional. It's funny when you have these fvckers dead to rights with proof and clear observation and they still won't take responsibility.
I purchased a drumset 6 piece Gretsch Catalina maple kit was demo version arrived incomplete big time sent it back now I'm sent a 4 piece set I don't understand it how many times must I be sent the wrong thing? I just don't get it. Are they do it on purpose?
They have great gear unfortunately it seems difficult to get anything shipped these days they don't communicate well with customers your order will stay in limbo tell you call and even then no guarantee
