MONEY STOLEN
I paid for a hotel using this company back in May and then travel plans changed and I called to cancel within their terms and agreed to pay the admin charged and get my refund of £800.
2 months on - 5 promises to make the refund in writing and verbally - and no refund. I am now involving the relevant authorities for theft.
There are plenty of reputable travel companies online - DO NOT USE ALPHA ROOMS
I like the fact that there are no hidden fees.
But the accommodation I booked for has 2 buildings, each with a very different level of comfort / facilities (found out on Google reviews) and it's not clear at all which you're booking on the website.
You should have pictures of the actual room booked and not the generic pictures of the hotel's best suites - that is deception in my books.
I have not yet used my booking and I will revisit this review if there are any problems.
I have only good words too say about this site. Never had a trouble or any drawbacks with my reservations

They change your accommodation just prior to your departure and it will be nothing like what you booked.

Late Hotel Cancellation notice
I made a hotel booking early February 2018 and made 2 payments already but today 27 June I received an email that the hotel has been cancelled due to booking issues. They offered an alternative hotel no where near the class of Hilton I had originally booked.
I had to make several emails and calls to get the correct response that the money will be refunded to me by Alpharooms.
I called Hilton and they advised me the hotel was cancelled on 28 February. Yet Alpharooms took 4 months before informing me today!
I ended up paying a lot more by rebooking direct with Hilton. Alphatooms said they will not offer any compensation.
Beware of this tactic they play to force you to accept a much cheaper hotel at the same price you paid by warning you very late of cancellation when you have booked other holiday essentials like air ticket and taxi etc.
I will not be using Alpharooms any longer and will be informing anyone l know of my experience with them.
Use other travel agents.
Process is so easy to complete. Apartment booked in less than 5 mins also with the opportunity to pay by instalment.
Very efficient and excellent communications to confirm the booking.
Accommodation voucher and transfer voucher arrived promptly too!
