Allstate is a great company insurance-wise, but their Rewards program is thankfully retiring in October 2023. Basically useless points to convince you to purchase items that you can find cheaper outside of their experience without using Points.
Reducing premiums, even shaving of a few dollars, would have been a real "reward." It's a shame to see enterprise level companies waste millions of dollars on these ridiculous campaigns. You have to wonder how much money Allstate threw away, paying marketing "innovation" consultants to sit in meetings for this turkey of an incentive program.
I belong to a lot of rewards programs and as you can expect, you use your points for whatever they offer, ie…3000 pts equals 30.00 dollars. Allstate offers 10% off on merchandise, travel, gift cards and the like. That could easily be offered as a monthly coupon to participants. There is no point in collecting points and calling this a "Rewards Program".
The fact that I'm paying substantially high rates (for a single driver, clean record, etc, I'm paying over $200 a month….) you'd think the rewards would be more sufficient. I'm so glad this program is ending. It's an absolute waste of time. I'm spent countless "points" entering a particular sweepstakes (which I'm sure no one is gonna actually win)… I've already been hunting for cheaper insurance and if I don't win this sweepstakes, I'm for sure leaving. I'd rather save an extra $40/mo than waste my time with Allstate much longer. Counting down the days before I find out I didn't win.
Absolutely horrible, I'm sure there will be backlash. Unless you're a trucker, it was hard to be competitive. Now they are ending the program and pretty much other than the daily deal that runs out because there is ONLY 1, meh...they want u to think the discounts on the other items are really discounts-NOT! This is just stupid marketing!
This is by far the cheapest, ridiculous con of a so called rewards program. The points are pretty much worthless. The Small discount you get for your points are a joke. Not worth the time or energy to even follow them.
Only reason I stay with Allstate is that I did get a better rate and the cash back rewards from drivewise were an actual surprise amount.
The Daily Deal is basically impossible to get. I'm on a fiber connection using ethernet and the site's responsiveness is bad, really bad when the countdown is down to zero. I was able to click the button once, and I got an error a minute later. I also have tried multiple browsers but have had no luck. I already complained a couple of times but I get some standard responses. In summary, the site can't handle high traffic so the chance is very minimum. I attached a screenshot, notice the error message and that the item is supposedly still available, but it wasn't.
Every time I log in to my Allstate account, a reminder pops up about their Allstate Rewards being discontinued as of 10/31/2023. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I had amassed over 142,000 points. When I started looking at 'ways to use your points', I knew why. This rewards program is a joke and an insult. Whatever marketing genius came up with this one should be fired.
This "rewards" program is pretty worthless, but the only silver lining, was you were able to purchase giftcards at a meager 10% off, but was still a savings, if you purchase a few hundred dollars worth like me (carnival giftcards). Well that seemed to have disappeared now so basically their rewards program is now complete trash. Tje merchandise they sell is overpriced trash you can buy on amazon cheaper without using "points".
Allstate rewards is basically a marketing tool and there are no rewards. The website is not user friendly and takes too much time and effort to navigate. I think Allstate should discontinue the program and reward automatically for good driving behavior.
Ill admit, i got my "money's worth" i guess. I won 2 auctions for giftcards that were each just below 100k points. One was target, and im not sure the other. Also got several free magazine subscriptions over the years. 1 star, because now they are closing the program, leaving those with big points balances nothing to use them on. That said, you still have 3 months, and you can still get 1 year mag subscriptions for 1000 points each (or 6mo of people mag, which my wife liked), or just shove all your remaining points on sweepstakes that you wont win.
A rewards program should be what it state Rewards. I have over 165,000 points. I would think there should be something I could get free. Amazon is cheaper. I finally stopped looking to redeem those points. I believe Allstate is who the rewards are for.
I have tried my hand at a number of auctions... you just wait for the timer to get under two minutes and then start clicking like mad. Its a complete joke! If they were smart, they would do blind auctions on all the prizes, where each person can write down how much they are willing to offer and it selects the best.
Don't waste your time with this.
I recently moved from Florida to Washington State. Allstate had the best deal in FL but GEICO does here. Ergo, I am changing companies next month. Meanwhile, I have accumulated 210,400 reward points and thought I should investigate what I can do with them. Turns out they are with out value. It really did not surprise me. The program is just a scam to get your attention. Read the rest of the reviews - you'll agree.
I would love to see proof (screenshot...) of anyone receiving the daily deal gift cards. There is no way one second of hitting the enter key that all items are in cart. Total BS.
On the sweepstakes side of the rewards how do these people win? Is it by chance or is it by someone hand picking the people? I have been enrolled for 4 years and have never won, even when purchasing extra tickets. Ok, maybe I have bad luck, however, I just went on the closed auction site and found this: 1 person has won 11 sweeps right now! Who is that lucky? One of them was a big prize. They have not collected their prizes yet either. Sounds like a scam to me. Sounds like they were hand picked.
I have been a customer of Allstate for decades and a member of rewards program since it started. I have never had a good experience with shipping items from this site. It literally takes weeks... I'm going on week 3 now waiting for items to ship that were purchased prior to Thanksgiving. Although my credit card was charged the next day, I've seen nothing. Customer Service gave me a blanket response that all orders ship within 5-10 business days. Well obviously that did not happen. Today I asked for my money back for my order so we'll see what kind of run-around I get. I suggest if you use this site, use your rewards points to enter sweepstakes or purchase magazines (you expect to wait six weeks to get your first magazine), don't purchase merchandise unless you have a couple months to wait for the item to get here... and I'm not even exaggerating. It's sad because the merchandise is actually a pretty good selection, the fulfilment get less than a one-star from me.
After waiting almost a month for a pair of sunglasses that I purchased through Allstate Rewards, I gave up and requested a refund to my credit card. Really this reward program is not a reward program at all, but rather an opportunity to get some discount on various products. The problem is you probably will never see the item you ordered, so its a waste of time in the first place.
I have been looking at different insurance so thought I'd try and redeem my points. Haven't been able to log into the rewards site for a month. I get the "There may have been an issue with your log in attempt message". I've tried on multiple devices and the site doesn't work. Customer support say's they are working on the problem and it should be fixed shortly. How can a billion dollar company have this type of tech issue for over a month? What a load of crap.
I have been saving my points up forever (I work from home so I don't earn a ton as it is)... I finally get over the 200 thousand mark and think I will be able to bid on something good. Well now it looks like I got another few years before that will be the case cause now $5 gift cards are going for 500 thousand points. Think after giving this company as money as I do for the last 18 years with no accidents or claims at all... I would have earned more then a $5 gift card. But apparently I haven't even earned that. I thought maybe I would buy something at a discount instead... But most of the things listed on their website you can buy elsewhere for a lot cheaper if you just shop around. So been a huge waste of time... Not at all a reward.
I went on the site to order some discounted gift cards. I can't even log in without getting an error message. I called the number it said to call and after several transfers nothing was fixed after 1 hour 40 seconds of being on the phone with support. Was told they would escalate the ticket and it could take 5 business days for someone to get back to me. Not acceptable! How about take my order over the phone and fix it in the meantime. Feeling ripped off!
Answer: I won a $10 gift card the first time I tried an auction.
