I used to love the AllRecipes site and have been a member for at least 18 years. Prior to March 2017 there were no advertisements when one did a search for a recipe. Today on my search page I found SEVEN ads with no ability to close them. Every search is between 3-7 ads. Additionally, there is no point in doing the ingredient search because the search gives you what AllRecipes wants you to see and those recipes are laden with name brand products!. After one phone call and talking to a brick wall who clearly did not like her job I decide to warn others.
I predict that Meredith is on the money train and the next step will be offering paid memberships that will bring us back to what the site was prior to the changes. Ie no ads and correct search credentials.
Meredith - if you troll sites for ratings FIX THE ISSUES...
All Recipes was my favorite and most used recipe website until now. Searching for recipes was better than any other website. That is no longer the case. When I search it looks like Pinterest instead of arranged evenly on the page like it was in the old format. Plus the search results are so poor. Items totally different than what I am searching for pull up and good matches to the search are several screens back. I can no longer print personal notes with my recipes. Since all cooks alter recipes, it seems like this would be a huge feature for everyone. I am glad I can still add my personal notes but these are only available on the webpage. For my favorite recipes I like to keep them printed out with my personal notes - just in case the recipe is removed from the site. Now I print them and have to hand write my personal notes on them. I am so disappointed with the new format and I now Google for recipes or use Pintrest instead of AllRecipes.
Allrecipes used to be my GO TO site for new meals and favorite recipes. The changes are filled with adds which makes it almost unreadable on my phone. When I switch to my computer, I find similar difficulties. The recipes are not longer simple to follow. I feel like I am reading a blog. I am so sad. Allrecipes will no longer be my "go-to" site. :(
What is up with this site? I used to sign on every day to find new and exciting recipes. Today I click on a quick pasta recipe and it's made with RAGU? Are you kidding? Many of the new recipes you highlight have things in them I have avoided for years. I assume you are doing this for advertising. So disappointing.
If I actually notice that a site is slow, then it's *really* slow. Not only that, but Allrecipes is absolutely unusable on any of my mobile devices. It will hang up on my 'phone every time to the point that if the site comes up in a search, I don't bother with it, this is with different browsers and a fairly recent model phone. Not much better on my tablet.
I know how to cook a handful of things, but I have learned so much from all recipes. Especially, the green juices and healthier recipes. The recipes I have found on there are easy and I like how they even tell you what ingredients are on sale at your local grocery store.
It's too bad such a great site has sooo much advertising on it that I can only see 1.5 inches of the recipe on my laptop. The site has such little respect for those trying to find or use recipes that in return I have little respect for it.
The recipes are 5 star but the site would get a zero if I could.
This site was my fave, my trusted go to quickly and get dinner going, saved time and helped with dinner time blues. I love to search by ingredients. Come back to us. The app has been removed from my streaming device.
I now hate your website very, very extremely much! You can not maneuver the site without being completely Inundated with ads! A complete waste of my time! And what is that ignorant Spoon Stirring the Bowl crap? You used to be the best, but You sold out! Now all you are is a LOSER site!
I have been a fan of Allrecipes for years. I especially liked being able to sort recipes by ratings. It appears that this function is not available in the new format. Unfortunately, I must move on to new sites that provide this function because it is important to me. Sorry, Allrecipes.
People very often, that's to say almost always, rate recipes according to changes that they made to the recipe. This is infuriating. If you see a recipe with 5 stars you'd think it is awesome. Then you read all the reviews and see that people really gave their variation of the recipe 5 stars. Not cool people.
I learned quite some time ago not to trust the integrity of Allrecipes.com. And yet, its a great site. Just unreliable. To use it successfully I keep an excel spreadsheet of every recipe in my Saved Items and Collections. I keep my excel spreadsheet and my Saved Items and Collections on Allrecipes in sync at all times. This weekend is a perfect example of why. I have tried multiple times on Edge, Chrome, and Safari, and my Saved Items and Collections will not load. It I didn't have my control sheet I would not have access to my favorite recipes. My Favorites works on the ios App, so I know the information is still there, but once again the Allrecipes site is broken this weekend. No doubt they'll get around to fixing it at some point.
This site used to be great. Recently, I noticed that a few of the Pro features disappeared. Since 2012, I've paid for the pro subscription. In Jan 2018, I paid for 2 years, I don't have the Pro features. I've emailed 4 times and I've called and left a message two times. Awful and so disappointing. I'm looking for an alternative.
Tried to print a tater tot casserole recipe on two different laptops and it doesn't work. Just trying to write the review here, the damn spell checker starts to correct and comes up with the stupid "block" window which doesn't behave like any other spell checker I've ever used and reverts the "corrected" text back to the start of what you are typing. I'm done - will block this site in my hosts file. You people need to snip your programmers so they don't pass their genes on. One star, but only because it wouldn't allow ZERO!
As the title says, it's a great place for recipes. But what good is that if you can't navigate their terrible website? They recently reformatted the site, and went from bad to much worse. Check it out yourself, you'll see. Ughh. Get it together, webmaster!
Allrecipes once was my favorite site for searching recipes. That was... until they got rid of the ability to sort by rating. I only searched for the highest rated recipes... why would I waste time making a dish only rated one star? Thankfully I saved many of these favorites. I even emailed them directly and received an obligatory response stating that they would pass my remarks/suggestions on to their technical team. Newsflash... your new Allrecipe format sucks! You are losing faithful, longtime users Now I just google or go to the Pioneer Wonan site... my Allrecipes replacement. HORRIBLE decision Allrecipes, and SHAME ON YOU for not listening to your users!
Used to love this site, no it's a pile of crap. It so hard to operate now. They're using recipes people uploaded onto it to make a profit. Not even their own. I'll never go back on. It was so frustrating.
Love this site! When I came to US I don't know how to cook, allrecipes taught me pretty much how to cook. Recipes range from simple to not-so-simple, but the best part are the the feedbacks, reviews and tips from other people/cooks! Yummy website!
This is my go to website, which is currently Under Construction. Why in the hell would you close your website down 2 days before thanks giving to upload more recipes. This should have been completed atleast a week ago. More quality meals are cooked tonight and tomorrow than all year long. I really need an oyster dressing recipe and the website is under construction. Bad Timing.
I've been using Allrecipes site for years. I've reviewed many recipes. I have quite a collection that I have saved. For at least a month I have been unable to access my collection nor am I able to write any reviews. I get a red X when I try to rate and review a recipe. I contacted customer service a few weeks ago and they assured me they were working on it. Blah blah blah. I am so frustrated with what you've done Allrecipes. All I can say is thanks a lot!
Answer: Same here. I think we've been defrauded. So much has gone bad with this formerly good site. Maybe time fot some class action.
AllRecipes has a rating of 1.8 stars from 230 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with AllRecipes most frequently mention new format, email address and many times. AllRecipes ranks 85th among Recipe sites.
