The company's reputation is significantly marred by overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding its educational platform, which customers describe as ineffective and frustrating. Many users express dissatisfaction with the program's design, claiming it induces stress and confusion rather than facilitating learning. Common complaints include poor explanations, a punitive grading system, and a lack of engaging content. Additionally, customer service experiences are often characterized by delays and unprofessionalism, particularly concerning billing issues. Overall, the sentiment reflects a deep frustration with both the product and the support provided, indicating a need for substantial improvements in both areas.

If I could give this negative stars I would. This is absolute Hell on earth. It does nothing but force feed your short term memory to complete all the topics in a ridiculously short amount of time and sends you back over and over to complete the same problems if you mess up or once you hit a Knowledge Check You would think that would help but it sends you into a cycle where 1 topic could waste over an hour of your time trying to complete because the Explanations are complete crap, they dont make sense or they arent even up to date on the different version of the problem right in front of you. I would NEVER take a math class with this system ever again and I advise anyone else to not even waste your time or money. I spent $830 out of pocket on this math class and and extra $50 for this sh! T software and I STILL have to look for outside sources to complete and learn because this does not teach you! This is just a way for teachers and colleges to get out of lecturing.
The ALEKS site wastes more of my time than anything else. It is set up in a way that is extremely frustrating and basically spits in your face every time you get a question wrong.
I'm a good student. I have a 3.7 GPA, I do my homework and study hard. This program is everything that's wrong with education. COLLEGE STUDENTS HAVE JOBS AND OTHER CLASSES. I spend so much time a week on this stupid $#*!. IT DOES NOT TEACH, I HAVE TO LOOK AT OUTSIDE SOURCES TO ACTUALLY LEARN. MAYBE this program would be good for kindergarteners who don't have anything to do. Any class I take from here on out I will ask if they use aleks and if they say yes then I will drop the class. I don't understand why colleges would want to put students under this kind of stress. THIS PROGRAM IS ENOUGH TO MAKE PEOPLE DROP OUT.
Good idea, but it's REALLY buggy. It says my correct answers are incorrect. Can I give it zero stars?
We use this in school, and it's so much better than the regular class. You end up skipping about 90% of each course with the initial knowledge check, then get ahead of your class easily. You don't have to sit through lessons you already understand. I like that it adapts to what you already know.
D4MN IT YOU M0THERFVCKERS! AT LEAST TRY TO MAKE YOUR WEBSITE REMOTELY USEFUL! WHEN YOU GET SOMETHING WRONG, IT DOESN'T TELL YOU WHAT YOU DID! THE WAY IT WORKS SUCKS! FVCK YOURSELVES! TRASH! GARBAGE! D1CK LORDS! I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN RIPPING PEOPLE OFF! SH1T 4SSES!
The rules, $#*! as they are, change every two seconds. All I ever wanted was to learn and Aleks not only took that away but also my will to live. 0/10 would not recommend. Also it crashes every minute
This is just about the $#*!tiest website I have ever seen. I hate this useless website. It doesn't tell you where or when you got a question wrong, just $#*!s you over for it. This program almost made me hang myself. The worst program I have ever seen and makes me want to die.
There's nothing more satisfying than watching all of the progress you made on a topic slowly erode because you make one mistake. This program has made me nearly punch my wall out of pure rage. If you're a professor and genuinely care for the mental health of your students, avoid this. If you're a student and are seeking an additional study tool, also stay away. ALEKS stylizes itself as a "mastery" tool, when in reality other homework programs do the same thing and do it much better. One time ALEKS locked me out of homework that I needed to complete because it gave me a random knowledge check. ALEKS erodes HOURS of progress with its "knowledge checks" if you make as much as one simple error. This is a horrendous program and it should be avoided as much as possible.
A lot of people just say they hate ALEKS but don't give a reason so I will list the disadvantages of ALEKS:
1)The white blank background in sad and depressing!
2)It's overly complex!
3)There is no sound not even a "YAY!" when you get something right!
4)Almost nothing can be customized!
5)Teachers make kids do it too much!
6)It's hard to learn through all your endless rage!
7)The overall design sucks and is very discouraging!
Here are the advantages:
1)You become dead inside.
2)You get a good weekly ALEKS grade.
3)Through your tears and suffering you learn a little math.
If you can argue with this I would be surprised because I have clear reasons!
Honestly, the explanations are trash, the structure is also trash, I've been so focused on just trying to get through it, that I haven't learned anything. I get very frustrated, I want to throw my laptop at the wall, but I can't do that, I want to scream, but I also can't do this. Worst software out there. -10/10
O my god! I literally scream at the computer. The explanation sucks and it's so repetitive. I can't let my anger in school, which sucks. Aleks leaves me on the floor crying in agony for the pain it makes me go through. I'm depressed
Go jump off a ******* foot tall cliff aleks. Go jump into volcano and be burned. Go jump off of mt everest. If possible, I would give -infinity stars. Aleks should die a deadly death. I would be very happy if aleks was slowly murdered with a pencil, eating nails, while being stabbed by a rusty spoon at the same time their teeth was being pulled put with rusty scissors. THIS IS THE WORST WEBSITE EVER CREATED. WHOEVER WANTS TO MAKE A TERRIBLE WEBSITE, GET YOUR TERRIBLE WEBSITE INSIPIRATION FROM ALEKS.com. CONGRATS ALEKS. YOU HAVE CREATED THE INSPIRATION FOR BAD WEBSITES. I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR SLOW DEATH WITH A PENCIL, WHILE EATING NAILS, AND BEING STABBED BY A RUSTY SPOON WHEN YOUR TEETH ARE BING PULLED OUT WITH A PAIR OF RUSTY SCISSORS.
Some may think I'm dramatic but alek is probably the most boring thing ever, right ahead of prison alek has made me question my sanatity. If you are a math teacher just dont do it please dont make us do it
Sucks so bad. Poorly written. Everything that could be bad is bad. The last teacher i had this with ditched it a quarter through the semester.
If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. Here is exactly how I described Aleks to my family:
A program called ALEKS that only tells you if you're right or wrong, and if you're wrong you get one more chance to do it right.
It doesn't tell you WHERE or WHAT you've done wrong.
It's like "Oh yeah, that alphabet soup with numbers, exponents, and operation symbols? You figure out where you screwed up."
It's soul rending. You will hurt, you will cry, you will want to die.
My poor calculator has met the floor more than a few times.
Schools: PLEASE USE PAPER AND PENCIL WORKSHEETS!
This website will make you want to kill yourself. Again and again and again... Please if you have any responsibilities outside of school drop them immediately because this will be all you do in your free time for the rest of the semester.
This site is awesome. If you get it right it says your wrong. I had a soul but this sucked it right out. I love aleks so much it just takes the joy out of my life. Also the reward is great. If you get it right it will say wrong but if you hit try again it will say it is right.
Disgusting UI that is poorly optimized, horrible problem sets and small databank for problems, sometimes even says im wrong when i put the right answer in, terrible product, never wanna use this Bull**** again, big F U to college Math
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
