I booked a hotel on website.
The booking dropped out mid booking. I went back in to try and continue but had to start again. I received confirmation formation the cancellation email. 2 days later realised funds had been withdrawn from my account. Contacted hotel who cancelled booking. Despite over 20 emails Agoda still have my money even though hotel have been very helpful and agreed to full refund.
Do not give them your credit card details. They are thieves
I booked and pre-paid an apartment for the whole month in Bangkok, but the host never responded. Just disappeared. The support was extremely hard to reach, and they were not willing to solve this situation. I had to call them dozens of times and speak with dozens of support managers to finally request a refund. It took 2 days of uncertainty and nerves. And turns out they don't even have their own refund system: they passed this issue to a third-party transfer system. Astonishing incompetence for such a big platform.
Fast forward 2 weeks, the money hasn't arrived yet, and the support won't respond at all, because they consider this booking closed, and the booking number isn't valid anymore. Anyway, there's still hope that it will resolve gladly, but I'm having a really bad time as a customer. I will never ever have any business with Agoda, even if they host the last apartment on Earth.
As a travel company, Agoda does not really believe in customer service. Their customer service team in Hong Kong, En and Chan (+852 3910 4100), really brings out a bad taste in the way they treat customers.
They even asked whether I have taken a flight before? Oh dear. Did I pay money to be treated this way?
Instead of trying to provide solutions, they really like to bring out the terms and conditions of agoda usage and using these to justify why they do not have to produce solutions. Perhaps, having such customer service officers means spending more money on advertising to attract unsuspecting innocent people, who do not know what they are in for. Hmmm, maybe a good business idea with poor executors on the ground.
Used agoda to book a room in Oakland CA for 2 days. When I arrived the hotel had no reservation. They searched it several different ways but I got nowhere. I tried the agoda online chat system but they don't seem to allow you tell them what the issue is only select boxes which don't apply to your issue. I called customer support 866 number but the call disconnected with them on their end. I will NOT be using this service again. The prices may be a few dollars lower but if you end up with no room and no recourse it's all pretty useless.
I had booked a 3 night stay at the intercontinental hotel in Tahiti and after booking went to booking.com and noticed the same type room with breakfast for about $250 less. I was unable to cancel the reservation within an hour of making it and was not given the price difference because they claimed to not be able to as I had changed my email address which is still not corrected several days later. I would advise not using them instead use booking.com!
I have bad experience related to my stay at Corner Hostel, Wroclaw, and wrote a review on Agoda, but they didn't post my review. In summary, they just selected good reviews to push up their sales. Unprofessional & No responsibility.
As I'm writing this I'm standing at the hotel reception for 2 hours, because they not receive any booking info from agoda and agoda already charge my card. After contacting Agoda they keep changing customer service people with no response.
I took my family to a beach vacation just to find the place in unsafe location, the street to the beach is surrounded by trash and construction debris. The beach is full of trash. We had to leave to find a different place to stay, not from Agoda of course.
I requested the refund but was offered 10% of credit to the account wish I doubt I'd be using it again.
My surgery was cancelled at the last minute, even after my IV was in. I no longer need two nights of my original 3 night stay. I checked out of the hotel but the manager said he was unable to cancel, that would be through Agoda. But their website makes it impossible to modify the original request and customer service chat just goes around in circles or shuts off. I would definitely not recommend this company.
I'm on vacation now spending my time dealing with these thieves because they charged me full stay on a hotel I cancelled months ago. I've sent proof of my cancellation but now are asking for a fee to look into it.
I thought I was booking through Flair/Booking.com who apparently partner with Agoda Agoda is stealing my money

I booked a same room twice and got cancellation email due to unforeseen technical circumstances. If it was truest A "technical circumstances" the 1st time, why was the listing not removed?
Reality is the demand for rooms increases and you guys could make more money from the room so you cancelled my room and put it back on sale for higher price!
I did not check my email till today - 2 days before my trip and now I know I don't have a place to stay yet!

Don't trust this site—- there are either honest people running the algorithm or a "sucker" running it for any *******@agoda.com is absolutely the later!
1. The quoted prices were increased magically after I booked. 2. When I tried to cancel, one room would cancel and the second room booked on the same booking would not cancel. 3. There is no way to actually contact anyone there, only a robot chat feature with preprogrammed options. Now I am forced to give up a $160 charge, or book the other two rooms I need for our party. Pics are proof that we were charged more after booking than agreed to at booking.
I have been giving run around regarding my refund. I do support documents saying my refund will be available with 5-7 days. The customer service agents are Liars very unprofessional. I will never use this company every again. They give you false advertisement
100% scam alert here. I booked a room they stated has 1 queen and 1 double murphy. It had 1 double murphy. I was left with no recourse because the property says they don't book direct or handle the charge. I'm out all the money and had a terrible experience! There is no customer service number and Agoda chat tells you to reply to the email you received your booking confirmation from. You will not get a reply if you do this. 100% scam guys I can't stress that enough!
I have encountered a very bad experience from their service support with regards purchased of air tickets, just a simple job to get the name in sequence from the airline and it took more than 20 days and yet till now, no update from them. At last I got to call up airline to make a correction myself. Just imagine, they keep on reply you that waiting for their reply, that means they are not interested to help you to get the things done.
This booking was an absolute nightmare. I place my reservation And was asked what time I would be arriving. I selected 4:56 AM drove the hotel only to find I cannot checking for 7 hours later. So naturally I wanted to cancel due to the screw up. And did not want to wait 7:00 after driving for 12 street before I was able to get some sleep. I was told 1230 days before I receive my refund. This all happened In 1 hour time frame. Then I was told I would be charged a fee for the cancellation. Moral of the story don't ever use this booking App and check all your other ones. You get lied to and it cost you money. This is the way they make their money by ripping you off.
Would give minus stars if possible! Booked a hotel room through them, we had one night refunded but agoda didn't want to give back the money for 1 night they wanted to keep some of it. We complained and each time they brought the figure down and threatened if we continued to complain they would keep the money for the room. They even changed the currency at one point, we payed in pounds but they changed the currency to Chinese currency. Eventually got our refund after 2 weeks of emailing and arguing but £5 short of what the hotel refunded us. In my book this is theft and we won't use them again, they are owned by Expedia so they have also lost we will use a different booking company from now on
It showed me a price of 5355 rupees for 4 occupancy. I booked 2 rooms which would cost ******* rupees plus tax, but they charged me Rs. *******. I called customer care to get the price breakdown but they have no idea about it. Worst experience ever with Agoda.
We tried to find and book a hotel for our trip to Tokyo, Japan in January 2024. On Agoda site, we found this Villa Fontaine hotel rate that seems reasonable and convenient. Press the enter key and thought confirming the dates. The message of reservation confirmation message popped up right away. Sent a message to Agoda to request cancellation and request waiver within one minute of the message pop up. Received a reply email within 40 minutes from Agoda by stating No waiver will be offered. The last communication is either forfeit the fees paid or negotiate with hotel for cancellation with US$400 penalty (no promise that this will be successful).
Booked two nights at a hotel that was rated 8.3 with Agoda that should have been rated 3.3 when contacting customer service they made every excuse to brush me off do not use this site if possible you will be disappointed as I was and many other people the respects and customer care for their clientele is disgusting the room has a missing sliding door to the balcony got mosquitoes and bugs came and went as they wished through the gap of the missing sliding door to the balcony and the laminated flooring was damaged and loose and food into pieces that was very dangerous to trip over

The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
