AFVClub uses guestbooking. Com for booking a cruise *******359. Here is the problem--the agent that you talk to will not let you talk to their supervisor or anyone else. I tried to get a price match 4 months after booking. I was told that they do not match the price, then I said I would like to cancel the cruise. They said ok that it would take 3 to 5 business days and someone would call me. The cruise was still 160 days out and I could get a better price from the cruise line. As of today they only refund a small amount of my deposit. They still have $400 of my deposit. I cancelled my premium membership because of this problem. DO NOT USE ARMED FOFCES VACATION CLUB FOR CRUISES!

Knew I want to go to Hawaii next year. Tried their $409/week search. Found almost all properties were in South America (way south) and in Austria. It did let me select Honolulu, but when I did, it gave me $409 for 3 days not 7 as the offer clearly states this benefit is supposed to be. Ok, figured maybe I was asking too much to get a special resort pricing in Hawaii. So then I looked for a hotel in Spain, which I intend to go to in just under 6 months from now. What did my search return? 4-pages of "not available" on all the properties! Really? Not a single property in Spain has availability 6-months from now. I doubt that is true. What is more likely is that this club is a croc.

Be careful when booking. The advertised price may seem nice. They usually advertise $200-$400/7night stays. But There are hidden fees. You'll most likely be better off just booking through the actual resort's website or a travel agency. Save some money and always do research on cancellation.

I have been trying to find a nice family vacation to the Massachusetts Cape Cod beach for years through AFVC. I have never found a hotel that has an opening outside the November to February time frame. I haven't seen any deals similar to those advertised. I am retired now, so I'm flexible. I cannot imagine that any active duty person could use this site, knowing that deployments and training exercises can occur with little or no notice.

I am writing this review to warn veterans from being blindsided by these prices. They advertise prices that are from $200-400 for 7 day stays then show resort fees of around $10. Which is an amazing deal right? Wrong a lot of the resorts actually charge extra fees especially if it's all inclusive. These fees can be almost $400 a night per person. You can purchase one of these deals than show up with your partner and will be told by the hotel that you owe around 5k for the stay. Imagine that happening to you! It saddens me how these prices trick vets and people who serve.

My husband (retired Army NG & foreign war vet) and I have been members since early 2000's. We loved exploring other states and picking different locations every year. The Club and the experiences really treated us well. I used to recommend the site to other military families and purchase certificates to gift to family & friends. NOT AT ALL ANYMORE! The certificates are worthless and if you do find a resort there's such a Huge upcharge (any other vacation app can be used for much cheaper). As for most of the dwindling inventory are just old & outdated businesses. It's so sad I don't even use it anymore and feel very sorry for those taken advantage who enrolled in the scam "Premium" membership!

If you don't care for AC, tv, running showers, and really enjoy roaches, then AFVC is for you.

Don't make the mistake of coming here in hopes of making your partner happy. Just come here if you like 1 star experiences at 1 star prices.

AFVC is now Wyndham & trip advisor run. You cant trust either one. Used to be really good site but not anymore. Don't even trust resort reviews esp by Trip Advisor. Nothing gets a bad review.
So sad! I wonder how much more will be taken away form active duty, retirees, and veterans. Such a shame!
The certificates are now a Gimmick!
Be sure to read all the info and check out the resort info. I bought this cert yesterday and canceled it today. Some of the resorts only have upgrades available for additional charges. The one we wanted in Orlando had and extra charge over $500. The $299 spaces were nil. It is a gimmick! It is such a shame that AFVC can't do better than that to give the correct info. Forget the pet friendly... it is nil too!

READ... REREAD! And then read again. The deals are waaaayy too good to be true, and once you start to look at the fine print you will understand, Think of it as outside a base. Financing E1 and up!

It does not come with the stripper/Temp Dependent... But otherwise these deals are on the same line up!

I booked 11 days at LaQuinta, Airport Clearwater Florida through AFVC. I paid in advance. The AFVC highly recommended it. The hotel was by far the most dilapidated, filthiest, roach infested place I have ever seen. I had to leave after two days due to the roaches, filth and patrons. The hotel would not give me a refund. They said they would send AFVC the credit($545). AFVC said the purchase was non-refundable. I offered to show the agent the photos I had of the severity of the situation. She gave me a bogus email to send the photos to and refused to give me her last name. This site takes advantage of veterans! Stay away!

At first they were great deals— 7 nights at a big resort for $349 and sometimes I'd snag a BOGO. Then I invested in the premium membership to get better, cheaper deals. The resorts got more expensive, were the worst resorts mostly the beds and old beaten furniture. Workers were exceptional always. So now I'm using Airbnb cause at least I know which unit I will stay at as opposed to the trashy unit. And resort now ask for a daily resort fee which jacks up the price but not the quality of your unit. AFVC ain't it Ms Thang. Do not do this to your family or to yourself.

Years ago this club did cater to Armed Forces personnel and families, by keeping their inventory up and their prices down. But it was a long time ago. Now this is merely a low grade timeshare/hotel 3rd party renting agency which is all about $$. Their inventory and quality of their rentals went down to the very bottom, yet their prices went up so much so that very often renting directly from the resort or via other timeshare rentals aggregator sites is cheaper. I am surprised that Armed Forces continue to be linked to this business, even if in name only.

AFVC offers certificates for $309 or $100 less than the normal rate for future use. When you go to use them, you have to go to another site, Resort Vacation Certificates, https://www.resortcerts.com, and there is nothing available for the certificate. Everything desirable has upgrade fees. There are locations available on AFVC for the normal weekly price but they are not available on the certificate site. It's a complete SCAM.

Most advertised vacations can be purchased for less and. I purchased the Premium package and have not received anything. Communications go without reply.

The deals look enticing, but be aware that the $300 to $400 per week is little more than a service fee for AFVC, not what you will pay for the resort (at least for the all-inclusive offers). When you start the actual booking process, be sure to scroll to the 'Resort Information' section towards the bottom of the page; that is where you will see the 'Resort Fees', which is the additional cost you will actually pay per person per night. In many cases this 'Resort Fee' will be significantly more than what you would pay through almost any other travel site. Perhaps AFVC provides value outside the realm of all-inclusives, but if you are looking for an all-inclusive resort vacation just ignore AFVC, they are not remotely competitive, and the fact they advertise these resorts at $300/$400 per week is inaccurate, shameful, and frankly, speaks to the integrity level of the organization.

Something significant happened a few months ago with the pricing and selections offered by afvclub aka Veterans holidays. Quite a large number of resorts are no longer available at all, the space-A stays have been drastically limited to less than desirable travel dates, and the more desirable resorts and/or travel dates are grossly over priced. I took a small random sampling of resorts from afvclub and then went on the actual resort websites only to discover I could book directly from the resort site for a lot less. I compared Apple's to Apple's; same dates, same accommodations. Afvclub overcharged between $532 to $729 for a weeks stay depending on the resort in every instance!
This used to be a reliable source for affordable vacations but something has gone very wrong and the administrators insist that nothing has changed.
Don't misunderstand, there are still a few deals to be had but very limited now!
I can't begin to adequately express my disappointment and disillusionment!

Bought the travel insurance just in the event of unforeseeable circumstances. Well, husband had a work emergency that caused our plans to be canceled. Call the customer service number and was told that we had to file a claim. Our reason for canceling was not listed in the "covered reasons " and therefore we are out $600! PLEASE READ THE COVERED REASONS! ITS LAUGHABLE!
WILL NEVER USE ARMED SERVICE TRAVEL AGAIN! PRICELINE IS A SCAM!
