99Gamers was a good trading site at first, but their recent actions completely betrayed the trust of their users. They stopped providing support then removed features. After a while they just abruptly shut down their site completely without warning, leaving tons of members with empty pockets and wasted money. For anybody looking for an alternative, I'd highly recommend LeapTrade.

You can still buy things if you have coins left (hopefully you don't at this point), but you are now unable to list new items. The only thing this tells me is the site appears to be going into full lockdown mode. What this amounts to is a dwindling supply of items and a lot of people with coins that they can no longer redeem on anything because few sellers are willing to ship things at this stage.
In 2015, without prior notification, 99Gamers changed the value of coins from $1 -> $. 75. This caused sellers to jack up the prices, usually beyond what the indicated dollar value should be, and kicked off the inflation with full force. In the subsequent months, the offers from 99Gamers to individuals to buy 25 coins for $10 effectively decreased the value of coins from $. 75 -> $. 40 which was the beginning of the end. At this stage they're worth pennies on the dollar.
I don't believe it was intended from the beginning as a scam. However, I do not think that the site management has been forthcoming with updates at any point, whether for the devaluation of the currency or information about this lockdown and other site changes. For example, the site forum was shut down at about the same time as the currency devaluation began, which is pretty damning.
During the good times I always had great service from the moderators and other 99Gamers staff and I have no complaints about them. It was great while it lasted, but that time is past and hopefully the next generation of game trading sites will learn from the mistakes made here.

When I first joined this site a couple years ago it was a great video game trading community. I'm not sure what happened between then and now but the site is a garbage dump. Coins were de-valued to 75 cents on the dollar but now prices are so high they look as if they're 7 cents on the dollar. I see $20 games at gamestop being listed at 300 coins! Just an awful site.

Total scam
March 24, 2016

This site is dead. The coins were devalued to. 75c per dollar, and are now worth probably around. 50c per dollar. I am stuck with 34 coins and all the listings from the site have disappeared, leaving games like pokemon for 100 coins, or Charles Barkley Shut Up and Jam for 20 coins. Absurd. Avoid this site like the plague. The creators of the site have shut down the forums after censoring peoples negative reactions and comments to their shady practices. They have since moved onto some other scam service called TyDy and have left the site to implode upon itself.

This site is basically a rip-off of another site that went by the wayside, Goozex. With any fake currency-based system there are bound to be economy problems. This can be seen by Gooz... I mean 99gamer's recent decrease in coin (fake currency) pricing. The pricing used to be $1 = 1 coin but now it is $0.75 = 1 coin. In the past new releases and valuable games were highly inflated in coin value (sometimes 2,3 or 4x the monetary value), I can only expect this to worsen now that the coin (fake currency) is worth even less.

My account had over 100 positive feedback (no negatives) and I have been slowly emptying my coins (fake currency) for the inevitable end. They recently banned my account because I wanted to "trade" games for other games (which is apparently against the rules because they make no money off of it). Check out www.gametz.com instead. They have been around for over 15 years and cost nothing to trade, buy or sell games. Funny enough, any mention of "gametz" is filtered on 99gamers... Guess they're afraid. It'll be hard to be afraid when they're out of business in the very near future.

99gamers is great if you enjoy getting games that are not as described, game purchases ignored or timed out, unprofessionally shipped games by 4 year olds who use the site, admins who are clueless and only out to make a buck, and a rule system from Nazi Germany.

Okay here's the thing:

Okay here's the thing:
99gamers is the new revolution for game trading.
No joke.
The last (and only) bad review has no reason to be here. Read the letter one of 99gamers representatives wrote to explaining how this reviewer was abusing the rules.
At first, like everyone else, I was skeptical. I mean, a site where you can sell games based on value for other games you want? Sounds fishy. I found out about this site through Tamashii Hiroka's Youtube account. I figured "If a respected Youtuber trusts 99gamers, maybe it isn't so bad." I am sooooo glad I joined because in the first FIVE minutes of posting my games, two people had bought something from my shop, no joke!. I'm planning on buying Pokemon Red, which on here is only 15 coins for the cartridge. They also sell Steam games like Five nights at Freddy's for 2 coins (1 coin is equivalent to 1 USD). I have had no bad experiences with this site so far and as a 14 year old with a bunch of unused games, this site is perfect. Thank you, creators of 99gamers, (forgot your names, sorry).

Great little trading site that just started! So far i have sent out a few games and received a few more, everything has been nice and smooth. The site owners actually interact with you unlike some other sites... click the chat button and talk straight to the owner... post in the forums and get a response from a mod/admin/owner within minutes... ask that a game listing be fixed or added to the database and BOOM within an hour or so its there. 99gamers has the potential to be a very good "by user" trading site.
