800notes used to be good. Now, there are a handful of moderators that are using it to bully posters. Big A is one of them. He trolls posts and belittles people. He's nothing but a keyboard warrior with nothing better to do, than troll people who are trying to help others. He also doesn't know the Statute of Limitations for states, and gives out false information. Then, when you call him on it, he calls you stupid, and belittles you. From what I heard, they are under federal investigation for cyber bullying. Stay away at all costs. There are better websites out there.
I used 800 Notes for years and loved them! I went there all the time to get info and to post my experiences. Then recently I started get attacked by the people there. It is mostly the admins who do this. They are insulting, nasty and full of themselves. They talk down to those who post, calling them liars and trolls and they use big words trying to impress each other and us. Get a life, I'm so done!
About the Moderators/Trolls...
They comb through the postings looking for anything and everything.
They send you a pugnacious, contentious response
They gang vote unanimously with negative votes on your posting
One used to be able to post about suspicious calls and exchange info. Now BigA posts rude comments to users who report on suspicious calls. It makes juvenile insults and appears to be at the ready, suggesting that BigA may have inside access to new posts as a moderator or administrator. BigA literally pounces, making it seem like an "insider" is behind these rude comments. The 800 Notes site did not used to host this type of petty, abusive content.
BigA is a troll which frequents the site and makes personal, derogatory replies to posts. It's rather off-putting and I have stopped posting there in "fear" of this trolls nasty remarks. It often calls posters stupid, lazy, tells them they need psychiatric help, etc. It appears the administrators or moderators of the site are unable to control this troll as it has been an ongoing issue.
I truly am not sure about the experiences all these other people had. Several years ago I started reporting spam calls, telemarketing, etc. to 800notes. It seems as though the site has numerous trolls on it, who love to belittle the commenters. While I do recognize some of these calls or not meeting the website's requirements to be reported, and others don't necessarily need to be reported, some of the comments are where these trolls will gang up on the commenter. Relentlessly, too. All in all, not a great experience. I'd rather use the many, many other sites to report spam calls.
Like many others who have posted critical reviews, many years ago I would regularly use 800Notes to post spam and scam phone numbers, in an attempt to educate people who come across these numbers. Yesterday I made my first post there in a few years. I was immediately attacked by a group of trolls, the worst among them "BigA" (which may be short for "BigA**hole"). They hazed me, called me a liar, referred to my accounts of falling victim to a scam as "imaginary" and "unbelievable," etc. One of the trolls did eventually try to help a bit by suggesting that I post at another site called Scammer Info (even while still accusing me of lying). That bit of advice was about the only good thing that came of my experience yesterday on 800Notes. In the future, if I ever fall victim to another scam, I will use the website Scammer Info rather than 800Notes.
Most reverse call directories charge a lot. 800 notes doesn't charge to post and read posts. 800 notes lets real people post info about scam calls and robo calls. Of course the companies that make the robo calls and scam calls want it shut down.
I do not answer my phone if I do not know who is calling. I always check 800 notes to see who it is.
If multiple people have left a negative review of the number, I immediately block the number.
This site is worse than Ripoff Report and should be banned. They allow anyone to post anything without verifying the identity of the person making the post. At least Yelp and the BBB has some kind of verification!
I abandoned this site years ago, after using it for many years to look up and post my experiences about numbers. But my comments got ridiculed, deleted for no good reason, or marked "pending moderator approval" of which nothing was approved and it stayed "pending" for months even.
It took me some time to find out the "moderators" are also the ones that troll the site, ridiculing people's valid comments. The users with avatars such as BigA (must be short for you know what) and TygerKat are the very worst. I found many more sites to post my comments that stay put, don't get deleted, and don't get ridiculed. I just recently checked user reviews, and I see nothing has changed in years. It took reading other user reviews to see it wasn't just me, it was anyone pretty much. One user said the trolls find people like sharks finding fresh meat.
Stay away from this site! There are many more sites to report numbers.
If 800Notes wants to be credible, it had better filter its information more effectively. I received a suspect 'robot' phone call, and checked it online. Robokiller defined it as a scam. I respect their research and their thoroughness.

This site said that it was legit., https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-*******747
If 800notes gives a damn about their reputation, here's a word for advice: the information they distribute is like drinking water. A single teaspoon of sewer water pollutes the entire batch. This is not the first time I've caught them putting out unfiltered garbage. I privately refer to them as 800bullship, or something similar.

I find it interesting that most of the public information-sharing forums for spam callers have been shut down or otherwise blocked from appearing in Google search results. As I read through some of the reviews if this site I note that many of the negative reviews are written by people who obviously speak english as a second language - which should tell you something.
800notes fumbled yet again and went offline, something they do to themselves often. Its great because its a troll haven anyway and unsuspecting victims are spared the bully treatment, at least for a short time.
I found the site is just fabricated complaints where most of the content comes from trolls, disgruntled unwanted call recipients and of course the bullies that run the site.
This is my go to site for information on unknown numbers. Site staff are very helpful. There was a problem with a troll name Delete the Media, but fortunately he was expelled very quickly after user complaints. An awesome place
800 Notes needs to shut down their business. They allow individuals to post anything absent of validation. It tends to be a revenge site and the complaint board or, "Trolls" get high off of inappropriate posts and when you attempt to write something or respond to a post, they tend to block it. Their philosophy is guilty until proven innocent. Complaints continue to mount at Att. Gen. Office and law suits are in the works. Sooner or later, she will fry.
800notes is the best site I've found for getting information on unknown callers. It's also a treasure trove of useful information and advice on dealing with unwanted calls and callers. The forum interface could use some improvement as it's often difficult to find the newest post in a long discussion, but that detracts little from the site's tremendous usefulness. One of the few web sites I keep in the Firefox "Bookmarks Toolbar".
800Notes.com is pathetic. It is full of errors and does nothing to correct them. They act like they are trying to help consumers but instead profit off of consumers' misery and make things worse by posting completely untrue information about people and refuse to take it down, even after being provided with proof of its falsity. The good reviews of this website are all done by the owner, not by real people, so don't believe them.
This site is great for the average joe to get or give some 411 on these sneaky callers!
Simple to use and more then fair for the person to write there personal experience with the caller. Would not change a thing.
This is the most asinine website on the Internet. There's nothing there but contradictory guesswork, stupid inaccuracies, misinformation, and outright lies. Anyone who tries to point some of this out is viciously savaged by a chorus of paranoid know-nothings who insist that every phone number is a scam. It's operated by a rotten bunch of idiots.
As another reviewer said, avoid site at all costs. Operation of the cite is in the hands of cyber bullies. Site will not remove false reviews or personal attacks on users. It deletes honest reviews. This guy said it well: Website is run by a bunch of low life scammers / online bullies that have no perception of reality, living in the world of virtual reality... The "administrators" WILL all team up and talk trash to ALL VICTIMS and delete any post that does not conform to their liking...
Answer: The person who answered at this number told me that they were "DSS Condominiums" It is a number listed in the Dallas, Texas area. The person had an accent that sounds like some of those scammers who do the refund scam, etc. I am not saying I know for sure he is a scammer, but I am always wary when I receive a call from those with that particular accent. I tried to look up those condominiums, but was unsuccessful, even when searching the apartment guides.
Answer: Its a free post anything you want kind of site and nothing is verified, so they cant charge when people tend to post false information daily.
Answer: Was taken offline during a lawsuit, but has since returned.
Answer: They use a special filter called the Octonet filter to block VPN, TOR and Proxy services because they cant block enough specific IP addresses when they dont want someone to post truthful things that make them look bad, so they block whole domains when they can. 800notes is nothing more than a money-maker from ads on the site and promoting that they "expose scams" is a scam in itself, they dont expose anyone, its supposed to be a "Phone Directory", but its just a place anyone can post anything they want.
800Notes has a rating of 2.1 stars from 87 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. 800Notes ranks 204th among Directories sites.
