After reviewing the content of this site, I have come to the conclusion that this is a cyber bullying web page, that wants nothing more than to tarnish the names of good quality business's. There is no way to contact them and when you write a review that is unsavory they delete it promptly. I for one find it reprehensible that they have the ability to lay out an opinion but let no one else give opinions of them. This web page does not help and only harms. Someone need to sue these people for unfair business practice and slander.
The website is filled with both genuine reports and made up stories, to be taken with a grain of salt. I personally wouldn't rely on it, but it can be useful in determining if a call is one you might want to put on your call block list or not.
I use 800Notes for more than 10 years. This used to be a very good site but not any more. There are some very rude people keep pending and harassing your posts. Special the one, BigA, who can delete my posts, not sure he is a moderator or not. And he is very rude bad English person.
Be leery of these guys. Informational posts are deleted if they aren't slanted in the direction their admin wants them to go. I watched a handful of their members (screen-names Gunnar, Tred, Slim, amongst a few others) tell Veterans to throw away good refund checks while spreading misinformation. Don't just take this communities word as gospel is all I'm saying. Check elsewhere for info. These guys don't seem to be well informed and don't seem to have your best interest's at heart either.
I am in the middle of making IA generated videos to post all over social media platforms to bring this website down. People could go on here and run businesses slander their names, and this website does nothing to stop it using a law saying freedom of speech. However, my IA were target their sponsors and advertisers once I start targeting them on these videos and this website here they will start losing money because this is how they are staying afloat and you to advertising. I will be emailing and calling all their sponsors and advertisers that their businesses will be in jeopardy to show media. If they do not drop off this website if they allow people to go on there and slander businesses by form of their phone number, I have the right to go on social media and ruin their business and I and I they same laws that they post on their webpage applies to me as well. I have freedom of speech 800 note.com needs to be shut down permanently, and I would do so by targeting their advertisers and sponsors.
Posted a complaint of repeated annoying calls from a certain political party. As a result of that post, I got a particularly nasty critique of my post by a very arrogant and insulting individual who probably is in dire need of psychiatric help.
When I offered a rebuttal to the troll, several other members of his gang jumped at the chance to 'try' to shame or embarrass me with their insults. When I fired back at their asinine comments, I guess they saw that they couldn't win/intimidate me; so, my comments were deleted and theirs remained.
One troll couldn't defend himself so he had to call on his gang to help him with his cause. Big brave losers and cowards - all of whom have no life!
It was once a useful site, now it's infested with the kind of vermin that make a site something to be avoided. Too bad the admins seem to support the trolls and not the legitimate users.
While many problematic phone numbers can be found on the site along with much helpful information, the biggest problem I have with that site is the nasty holier-than-thou attitudes of the long-time regulars and moderators and their lemming followers.
Like many others who have posted critical reviews, many years ago I would regularly use 800Notes to post spam and scam phone numbers, in an attempt to educate people who come across these numbers. Yesterday I made my first post there in a few years. I was immediately attacked by a group of trolls, the worst among them "BigA" (which may be short for "BigA**hole"). They hazed me, called me a liar, referred to my accounts of falling victim to a scam as "imaginary" and "unbelievable," etc. One of the trolls did eventually try to help a bit by suggesting that I post at another site called Scammer Info (even while still accusing me of lying). That bit of advice was about the only good thing that came of my experience yesterday on 800Notes. In the future, if I ever fall victim to another scam, I will use the website Scammer Info rather than 800Notes.
This site has been very helpful in identifying unknown numbers. More often than not when I visit the site I find out the identity of the number's owner. There are a lot of companies out there who share any information you enter on their site, which leads almost immediately to unwanted unknown calls. Thankfully there are sites like this one who can help identify the caller to determine whether or not it's spam or legitimate.
The site seems to be completely down at the moment--the pages are blanked out. 1/24 ~2PM PST.
I like 800 Notes a lot... WHEN they're up. I don't answer unknown numbers, and this site enables me to know who's calling.
Please be careful reading any reviews! Often there are some people connected with the business or competitors of the business that are strongly biased one way or another. Ratings of one-star or five-stars should raise skepticism and be read carefully. I am writing this review in regards to one key objective. 8--notes allows people to check suspicious phone numbers against other complaints of telemarketers, scammers, etc. I use this site to determine if I want to block a number. I do NOT want to block legitimate organizations or others I want to hear from. This site clearly has enough followers to allow an intelligent person to make this determination. Great job 800notes! I support this act of defiance against scammers and those who wish to pray on others! This is a legitimate five stars you have earned here!
This site gives you insight on numbers that call you. I have been attracted to this site after receiving dubious telemarketing calls. By and by I received threatening calls saying I committed a crime, or I owed thousands of dollars not having any idea who I did business with.
I am happy I went to 800notes. I posted about a call that was trying to scam me and the scammer replied to my posts, saying the call was legitimate and to call them back. I knew Microsoft didn't put any such programming into Windows to make it call them with error messages, or that my License expired. There were people at 800notes that saw the reply and jumped on that person asking them many questions about why they are there and explain those lies they were trying to tell me.
I don't care what others say here or elsewhere about 800notes bullying, it was a bad person trying to scam me and deserved everything they got. I wish they could have caught that scammer and put him in jail too!
One of the best places to get information or give information. Many time no one answers to hello however this place might know who it was. With the help of so many people you see the fact from the fiction however with so much progress the scammers like to ridicule this place. Some scammers spoof the number of non business numbers therefore people find the reason for their home phone number being used therefore its not the only reason for looking up the number therefore it help to know if that silent call was important or unimportant.
All the bad reviews are probably from scammers who were exposed and had to change their number!
I've had nothing, but a good experience with this site. This is my go to free to use website to look up a caller's info. It's database of scammers, telemarketers, crooked collection agencies and others grows day by day. It's user supported in finding callers who aren't what they say they are! If you have a questionable caller please report the number so others will know! The do not call list isn't very affective as crooks don't obey the law! Report them here on 800Notes so others can see and take appropriate action to avoid questionable callers...
Have found this site very useful through the past few years. Type in the number and find out if your issues match the issues of other folks. I often recommend this site to friends trying to figure who is calling and why. Very useful.
800notes does have some good info, however there are so many numbers that have no info listed. Don't mention Nomorobo's lack of blocking known scam numbers or your post will forever say post pending moderator approval, even tho the scam number is on Nomorobo.com/lookup as a Robocaller Warning as if both sites are linked. Not a scam just SUCKS
Ever get one of those pesky calls from an 800 number or wonder who it was? This free site has come in handy several times when curiosity got the best of me and I just had to find out who it was calling. It features comments from other folks who got the same call, most times on the same day I got a call.
I am amazed to see bad reviews about so helpful a site. Please continue as you are, I mean as you always helped us in your 800notes site. I will not tell you why I like so much this site, as I don't want the scammers to know about our secrets and the secrets of this helpful site.
For me it's helpful to know which numbers are scams and other people are getting the same calls. There are so many scam artists today and they know how to get money out of people.
Answer: The person who answered at this number told me that they were "DSS Condominiums" It is a number listed in the Dallas, Texas area. The person had an accent that sounds like some of those scammers who do the refund scam, etc. I am not saying I know for sure he is a scammer, but I am always wary when I receive a call from those with that particular accent. I tried to look up those condominiums, but was unsuccessful, even when searching the apartment guides.
Answer: Its a free post anything you want kind of site and nothing is verified, so they cant charge when people tend to post false information daily.
Answer: Was taken offline during a lawsuit, but has since returned.
Answer: They use a special filter called the Octonet filter to block VPN, TOR and Proxy services because they cant block enough specific IP addresses when they dont want someone to post truthful things that make them look bad, so they block whole domains when they can. 800notes is nothing more than a money-maker from ads on the site and promoting that they "expose scams" is a scam in itself, they dont expose anyone, its supposed to be a "Phone Directory", but its just a place anyone can post anything they want.
800Notes has a rating of 2.1 stars from 87 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. 800Notes ranks 204th among Directories sites.
