Initial install was May 2023 (engineered hardwood). 2nd install was February 2024. Floors have glue spots, from installer not cleaning glue as he installed. Installer scratched floor, boards needed to be replaced. They were never able to get glue off floors. They tried to repair scratches and made a bigger mess. They put additional scratches in floor and glue is coming up through the seams where the boards meet. I have asked for my money back, received less than half from installer's insurance. Still waiting 50 Floors to return the remaining balance. They have stopped communicating.
There have been over 20 people in my house between installer's and the cleaning and repair efforts that have been fruitless. I DO NOT RECOMMEND 50 FLOORS!
Crew unprofessional, no dust abatement, floors not leveled, dented car, left trash, broke water line. I reported them to the BBB. They were not even the cheapest estimate I received but they were the worst contractors we have ever hired. The floors must be replaced 2 1/2 years after they were completed.
2 years ago I had hardwood installed in my home, not an inexpensive purchase. Recently, we found a few areas that are now show gaps, so we called 50floor to have them come out and adjust them. Now keep in mind, we were told that this might happen and there would be no problem to fix the issue at no cost. Well that is NOT TRUE! We called and were told we had to pay $150 to repair a gap and that if they had to open a box to repair the gap that would be another $150. Yes, they did not leave us any boxes or individual hardwood planks for situations like this that may come up. We were SHOCKED at the total LACK of support to repair the floor especially after paying such are large amount. Long story short, BUYER BEWARE, 50Floor is NOT what they advertise. We wanted to have them put in hardwood for a family member, but not after this. Recommendation, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR FLOOR/CARPET PROJECTS!
To 50 FLOOR customers and service providers. Please be aware that this company does not pay subcontractors. They owe me almost 20 thousand dollars, I was requesting payment for over 2 years and they asked me to wait, wait and now they said they won't pay! I contacted the COMPANY'S NATIONAL MANAGEMENT, they asked me for proof of the debt (they thought we didn't have it), I sent it and they informed me that they wouldn't pay.
Hello just want to warn everyone not to ever use 50 floors. Besides the floors being made in china and not very good quality the installation is also poor and they are over priced.
My disabled parents hired this company to install flooring in Florida. 5 adults were in the room when The salesman said no glue would be used and it was moisture proof. The floor started peeling up and has glue coming through the seams almost immediately. We have been trying for 9 months to get them to help. All they do is fail to do what they say, string you along until the warranty is up and ignore all attempts to resolve. Read their HUNDREDS of bbb complaints before hiring. We wish we had!
Horrible experience! Have a whole folder full of details of my experience with this company. Wished I put my feet down not to continue with letting them do my floors. Every time I see their Ad on tv or hear it on the radio, I feel disgusted and cringe! Do yourself a big favor, if you need your floors done- please not with them!
I had my flooring redone by 50floor, and they were fantastic! Completed by carpet and laminate super fast and cleaned up after. I had heavy furniture that they moved and reset up too! Worth it!
We had a few bumps which included going with a different floor sample which ended up in our favor as it sped up the delivery and looks great in our home. We also had to have a subfloor installed for additional $$$ but did eliminate our creaky floors. All in all very satisfied. Want to thank Juan, Jessie and the installation crew for making it happen when we were in a holding pattern. Even though a big company it felt like we got the mom and pop store attention and knew we could trust them.
From beginning to end everything went smoothly. HF Flooring was very professional, courteous and polite. They did an amazing job installing the carpet in the spare bedroom. When they were done clean up was so thorough you couldn't tell they were even here. Highly recommend HF Flooring for quick and professional installation.
Weird experience. I set up a consult for an initial quote for replacing all of the flooring in our house. The guy came out and immediately asked if my husband would be joining us. I told him, no, he was at work. He then explained why he couldn't give me a quote because my husband was not here with me - they are so busy that they don't have time to come back out to requote the business when he's here (as if I'm not capable of making a decision). It was insulting. If you are a woman, may as well skip this business. They don't work with women!
We hired this company for floors in 4 rooms. We got three estimates and this company was not the lowest. We made sure all the floor leveling was in the estimate because we knew it needed to be done and we wanted no surprises. They installed three different kinds of flooring- ceramic, vinyl plank, and carpet. The carpeted room is fine. Everything else had to be torn up and redone because they didn't do any leveling and the ceramic tile job was so uneven that they tried to hide it by filling the mistakes with grout. There was a line item on our estimate of $760 for leveling and they actually charged us an additional $300 for re-doing it. The job took 2 weeks instead of 2 days. We told the crew we required masks and even furnished them but they refused to wear them so for 2 weeks we had to clean our house and wear masks every day they were there. They didn't put up plastic or paper to protect our floors and belongings from the construction dust and they cut ceramic tile INSIDE our home and spewed dust throughout covering our furniture, floors and walls. They left trash, food and beverage containers, nails & screws and sharps all over the house and driveway and they actually used OUR cleaning supplies, tools and garbage bags without asking first. They put a dent in our SUV while unloading supplies. It looks like they dropped something on our vehicle which caused a tennis ball shaped dent above the door level. They broke a water line during the installation of flooring in our laundry room and we only recently found out that they installed the repaired water valve backwards. The flooring had to be torn up again to repair the valve. I reviewed this company and they responded by asking if they could try to make it right. I told them that they should come and see the job that their company put their name on. They sent Mike who said they wanted to give us a $1000 refund. We waited but never received it. We fixed the dent and fixed the water line which cost considerably more than the $1000. Today we received a call from them stating that "because of our reviews they would not be giving us any money back". I want to warn others about this company. They are horrible. They take no pride in their workmanship and apparently value money over reputation. Don't hire them.
BUYER BEWARE: My husband and I hired 50 Floor located at 818 Bluecrab Rd. Newport News VA. *******. We spoke with the salesman on Sept. 6th 2017. I specifically ask the salesman if they have their own installers or do they hire independent contractors? He insured me that they were 50 Floor employees. Well, when they showed up Sept. 29th 2017 to do the job, it was very obvious that they were independent contractors. The language barrier was immediately an issue. They didn't measure anything before cutting. They were stepping on the shoe molding, that we provided, to break it instead of cutting it, they over cut the door trimming to the point I could stick my finger in the hole, they put defective planks down, they left gaps where the shoe molding was suppose to connect, when they put the toilets back they didn't cut the screws that holds the toilet in place, so the plastic covers would not go back on, they destroyed three different transitional strips that we provided, they put nails in the flooring, they left gaps in the flooring, they came back on 4 separate occasions to do what was suppose to be a one day job on Sept 29th 2017, they just finished today Nov. 15th 2017. They offered absolutely no compensation for our inconveniences, the only offer they made was to pay for the shoe molding and the transitional strips that they damaged. I had to escalate the call to corporate. And it was like pulling teeth to get them to offer 150.00 credit which is not anywhere near compensation that should have been offered for time wasted, aggravation, lack of professionalism, lack of customer service, the multiple canceled appointments that were canceled at the last minute, lack of integrity of this company is beyond unacceptable. I will never use this company again or recommend this company to anyone. I would have been better off hiring an independent contractor my self and saved the extra money they charged for mediocre work. Even upon completion, it doesn't look like a professional did the job.
