Your check will probably clear the bank immediately - your balance will probably reflect such. Then you'll send them (or a 3d party) a few hundred bucks back... and a few days later the counterfeit check will bounce and your bank will take the whole amount out of you account. You will be screwed... the bank won't refund your $. But they have nothing to do with Upwork... 'anymore than telemarketing scams have anything to do with your email or phone provider. You owe it to Upwork, yourself and fellow freelancers to report such suspicious activity REPORT this to Upwork Support ASAP. They devote a boatload of $, technology and manpower to identify and ban such scamming"clients", their IP address, etc. They can't fix a problem unless they know about it. The relationship that we freelancers share with UW is a 2-way street!

I highly recommend Upwork if your freelancer or looking to kickstart your career. Good place for working and finding jobs. Upwork is by far the most highly authorized freelance website. It is best both for the client and the freelancer.

If you are very new to freelance sites, it would be best if you start with their videos and tutorials that they have on the site that will guide you to getting set up. Don't know what field you are in but good luck, there's probably at least 500,000 already in your category since UW has merged with Elance and ODesk.

Yes, go into Upwork and search for copywriters and bloggers. Find a few that are in your niche and send them invites. Then take the same invite and post it as an open job... and wait. The prospects will start rolling in.

Except you're wrong... UpWork provides absolutely no transparency from the employer but requires proof of identity and full exposure for the freelancer. That's not a middle man, that's micro-management in favor of the employer.

It is simply clicking ads for $5.00 - $25.00 each, and it it would be great accept they don't pay, the member is supposed is supposed to be able to cash out at $25000 you are to receive a debit card ect. Except it is all a SCAM. Stay away, RUN RUN RUN.
