I "won" an iPad mini for $150 from Mv Solutions. Is it safe to put my cc information to pay for it? I'm afraid it's a scam...

STRAIGHT UP SCAM! THE PEOPLE SELLING THE CRAP ARE UNLOADING JUNK. SUCH AS: PRINTERS WITHOUT INK CARTRIDGES, PERFUMES THAT ARE LIKE WATER MIXED WITH A DROP OF FRAGRANCE, I ADMIT THAT I AM AN IDIOT FOR THINKING I COULD ACTUALLY GET VERSACE, MEMORY STICK THAT DON'T WORK, JEWELRY SO FLIMSY AND CHEAP THAT IT BREAKS INTO PIECES, ELECTRONIC TOYS THAT DON'T WORK, MY LIST DOESN'T INCLUDE ALL THE JUNK OR THE JUNKY SH** MY DUMB A** IS STILL WAITING FOR.;(

After I made my first purchase, money started leaving my account. They are collecting card numbers and using them. This site is a big scam!

I would make sure the iPad is real for starters. Sorry to be so blunt but this site is completely deceitful and I would never buy anything from them again. You're taking a huge risk. Sketchy.

I haven't had any issues and I've received a number of items. If you're worried you can get a Walmart MasterCard debit card and only load what you want to spend.

The most logical thing to do is to pay through PayPal, because then you have a much better chance to dispute a transaction and actually have it reversed if there is a problem. PayPal is very reputable company itself, and if you are concerned about buying through TopHatter I would say just open a PayPal account and use that.

Nothing is guaranteed 100%, BUT having the extra layer of protection is extremely WISE. The other big reason to use PayPal, is that you are not providing your credit card information to TopHatter. That means even if there is an employee of TopHatter that is dishonest, they CANNOT steal your credit card information! PayPal has that information secured on their site, and they only pass the "transaction approved" message back to TopHatter to say the sale is completed.

I just barely saw an ad tonight for TopHatter, and decided to try an auction. I won it, and so now I am waiting to find out if it really comes. IF it does come, then I will have effectively "earned" roughly $1,300! It is a 1 Troy Ounce gold bar, and with the initial order coupon for $5 off after the shipping cost ($5) was added on to the winning bid of $4, and then the coupon was deducted - left the final total at $4. I'm CAUTIOUSLY optimistic that it will actually come to me, because of this site having so many independent glowing reviews...

Yes. It is safe. The money goes into a marketplace account managed by Tophatter and other banks. It does not get released to the seller until your item has been delivered. The seller does not get your cc info. Most also accept paypal as well :)

I have had nothing but excellent service from the venders have never had a problem getting my items and have always been pleased with what I have purchase... one vender even offered to exchange a ring that did not have the right size! Don't know where all these people come from with all their negative posts but take it from a frugal mama you can't beat the prices... some advice: always check to see the description of the item first to see about the quality and then check the seller's positive reviews at the bottom of the page. I only go with some one who has 1000 good reviews or more... be a choosey buyer before plunking down your money!

It is debatable. Tophatter is not your concern, your credit card information is safe. If it is worth the money is the question. As I said, tophatter is not the issue, the seller is. Kind of like Ebay. Some will send you good items, the next will send you scraps from a Chinese sweat shop. DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY. I was a seller on tophatter and I will tell you first hand, not only do you get charged just to LIST the item (even if people do not pay and we have to cancel the sale, they also get charged commision fee on how much that item sales for (all of these fees are due before the seller even gets your money). The site is $#*! backwards. Do yourself a favor, Pay an extra $50 to buy your laptop at store. In some cases, you would pay $50 less than what you would pay in stores.

Yes. Why not?

Why would you bid if you were unsure of paying? That really hurts sellers. Although tophatter is ridiculous, you shouldn't bid first anywhere. Idiot move.

It's safe but u should ask the seller when she will send ur item some sellers there took forever to send the items and if cc or debit card u can file dispute if ever the seller did not send the item u purchase.

I agree with almost all here. Your cc info is fine. Its getting a quality product in a decent time frame that's the issue. I haven't had a problem with any of the products. Just getting them. So much so, that I'm done with Tophatter.

I personally wouldn't do it. My items were shipped to a wrong address and the sellers wouldn't give me the money back. Had to go thru PayPal. This is the worst site I've ever used. Run away!
