Question:

Answer:

I sent them a clean out bag recently. You get an email at the time you get your label - they ask if you want the clothing they rejected to be donated or do you want to pay a certain dollar amount to have the rejected clothing returned to you.

Question:

What are you best practice policies on sending items for sale to you? should they only be "in season"? how do i get the bag to send them?

Answer:

I agree with the last person. DO NOT sell them your clothes. Sell them on eBay or take to a local consignment store. I read their fine print, was very careful about what I sent them, and was completely ripped off. They kept 3 of my 6 items and gave me $2.75 total (after taking 6 weeks to process). One item was a Limited leather belt, one was an Eddie Bauer top with tags, and the last was a pair of Anne Taylor shoes I wore once.

Question:

Does anyone know why thredup is taking 16 weeks to send sellers a kit/bag to send in clothes? what has happened to them?

Answer:

I'm experiencing the same thing! I ordered a bag in early May and it is still processing. It will be my 4th bag. So I decided to see what happened when I ordered a bag from a new account and that bag was sent out (literally) less than a hour later. I am really curious why they are treating their seasoned sellers this way? I've actually had some good luck selling with them and almost everything they've bought has sold. But I always cash out through paypal so I wonder if they have preferential treatment for sellers who use their payout at Thredup? Anyway, it's frustrating and I'm thinking of finding alternative way to sell my items.

Question:

How long till my bag comes?

Answer:

"Also, I feel like the payout is way below what it should have been. I will be receiving pennies compared to what they will make off the items. There were also other brand new items in that bag that I feel like are not truly going to be donated. I’m sure they will make a profit off of the items in some way behind the scenes, but that is the risk I took sending it blindly" I cut and pasted this other reviewer because i had the same experience. I put in several pairs of designer jeans. A pair of hudson skinnies that were purchased last year and received nothing. I should have asked for the bag back. Highly disappointed and seems shady.

Question:

Are the clothing you receive washed/cleaned before they are sold?

Answer:

Nothing I have ordered yet has had a smell or stain and that's over 200 pieces I've ordered to date. I wash everything, but I have been known to wear an item right out of the box if I'm too excited to wait. Oh well!

Question:

I purchased 6 women's tops. all were were not refundable. they were rated "excellent shape". they are outdated and ugly. should have been rejects.

Answer:

You get the same thing for "good" condition. I received my items today and anything "excellent " was not at all. Also nothing fit and most non returnable.

Question:

Answer:

Please do not waste your time sending your good stuff to them. They pay pennies literally $0.20. There are numerous numerous complaints about people sending very high-end items and they either disappear, they are "donated", or they pay you nothing for them.

Question:

I've placed 3 big orders in the couple of days. after reading customer's reviews, i would like to put the stop on my order. please advise

Answer:

Too late. No way to cancel. You can get a refund if you opt to pay for return shipping. $8.99. And most likely a dollar 99 restocking for each item. Since your orders are large that may be well worth it to you to pay the shipping and be done with it. Otherwise you will get a store credit.
