Hi Danny, These investments are inherently illiquid (not traded on public exchanges), longer term, and high risk as is the nature of start-up investing. However, a number of companies have paid dividends, or had liquidity events such as being acquired or going public on a public exchange. Additionally, StartEngine launched StartEngine Secondary, our alternative trading system in October 2020. Several companies are trading or have signed to trade, and StartEngine's OWN shares were the first to trade on the platform. Hi Glenn! Thank you for contacting StartEngine! While we do not market in Canada or solicit investments from Canada, we are aware that regulators from certain Canadian provinces have raised questions with respect to sales to Canadian investors, and are taking the view that merely accepting money from Canadian investors is a transaction that they have jurisdiction over, and that such offerings have to comply with the Canadian equivalent of registration of the offering, or find an available exemption. In light of this position, in order to protect the companies who post their offering with us, we are not currently accepting investments from Canadian investors. We hope that eventually all the Canadian provinces will adopt laws or regulations to make it as easy for US companies to offer into Canada as it is for Canadian companies to make offerings to US investors.
