how long does it typically take to build your online radio station from square one?

You are never truly 'done', you are always going to refine the station. But, I agree with the other posters... it's possible to get up and running in a couple of hours, and then refinements will take additional time as you go along.

I just started using Radionomy a few days ago. I had my feed up and running in a couple of hours; however, it will take some time for you to our together a customized program for each day. At this point I am still building my programs and organizing songs, but my station is up and running with a little over 3 hours of music on heavy rotation.
