How do you rationalize charging someone in a different currency that they have agreed to pay? I agreed to pay 1100 CAD for my 3 night stay, and when I got to the hotel, I was charged 1100 USD. There is a 30% difference between CAD and USD. Currencies are not interchangeable.

I booked a hotel through hotels.com and immediately cancelled it. I was told that the funds would be refund in 30 days which is more than unacceptable. Reading your comments I am aware that I'll have to start a lawsuit if I don't get my money ($739.88) back soon. I don't want to wait 30 days and allow hotels.com to use my money in the meantime.
I called the White Rock Waterpark and Beach Hotel and they said they are not affiliated with hotels.com... why is that? Does that mean they won't honor the booking I will make with hotels.com?
