When you use Gov Simplified for a social security card copy, are you just getting the documents you need to fill out to mail, or are you actually getting a social security card mailed to you? How do you prove your identification through gov simplified to get a social security card. I don't drive but need my SS card.

Our service does not offer a social security card. The SSA accepts applications for social security cards either in person or by mail. We offer a preparation package in order to assist customers who would like to apply by mail. After you have received our preparation package and sent in the application along with the required supporting documents to the SSA, you should receive your replacement card from the SSA within 10-14 business days from the date your application is processed. Providing identification is a requirement of the SSA. All supporting documents are to be sent to the SSA not to our company. We provided detailed instructions for completing the application, gathering the correct required documents and a prepaid label for your use to send your complete submission to the SSA. If you would like more information regarding the services we provide, please feel free to contact us directly at 888-629-8008.

The form you need to apply for a new social security card (and the one that is sent to you by GovSimplified for $37) is available through the Social Security Administration's website FOR FREE: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ss-5.pdf. You can then mail that form (which takes only a couple minutes to fill out) and the necessary paperwork (birth certificate, driver's license, et cetera, it's all listed in the above link) directly to your local SS office. The only cost to you is the postage, as opposed to whatever "package fee" GovSimplified is charging. There is absolutely no reason to give money to this third-party company for things you can easily do yourself. Please save your money and protect your personal information from possible identity theft.
