Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from Etsy staff and previous consumers.
That is true and best way to go through paypal or credit card company that dealing with Etsy. Etsy Employees don't know what are they doing. And not able to do their jobs in timely manners so they suspend your account on other reasons like mine. You read those detail and Laugh.
Beware of this site. Everyone plays there own game. Some are not the best to work with. Before buying ask about shipping coast Even if it's listed. ASK ABOUT EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING. Save every message. The site Does not make it easy to contact them to make a claim. Just like fb sends you to a book to read on how you can do it your self, but no links to what they speak of. Cover your Butt. Each member "company" has the right to fully refund you or not. Buying online is something I will no longer do. Starting to become really hard. Just too many bad people. So many loop holes, too my excuses and so many sharks. THIS SITE WILL NO LONGER BE GETTING MY BUSINESS. I shouldn't have to worry about the person I'm buying from. ESTY should be checking up on their site. The only trouble I've had is with foreigners non US citizen (out side of America) all have gone wrong. Sending products that look nothing like the pictures or the price goes up, Then down after to pay. For me it only takes one time. That's just me though.
If there is tracking on your order, you should be able to see the movement of your parcel through whatever service your seller used. There are sometimes issues with the tracking information making it through to Etsy (not sure why) and you may see it hang up somewhere en route. Your seller SHOULD be able to request their shipper provide an updated status and relay that information to you. If your shipment was not tracked - good luck.
Delivery times depend on a few things, the service your seller or you choose (if that option is available to you) otherwise it's only the service your seller chooses or used). Where the parcel is coming from and where it's going (ie: How far away), and then there are other factors which can cause delays such as weather, and general upheaval in the world. Add to this, the accuracy of the address you provided to the seller (missing, or incorrect details), customs bottle necks for international shipments especially during busy or peak times like holidays, accuracy of the paperwork provided by the seller with the shipment, and various countries have certain rules regarding packaging that your seller must take into account if one of those countries happens to be yours. Each seller, and sometimes even each item within the same shop, could have different shipping times for any number of reasons. It's best to READ THE SHIPPING DETAILS in the listing and if you are still not sure, contact the seller BEFORE ORDERING.
Some sellers are great and one or two are terrible. They do not give refunds if the customer is not happy, Etsy will only help the sellers--they do not help customers so read the reviews and be really careful. I had a very bad experience with a seller and lost $2000. He kept a ring I returned and my money. Etsy does not care. So, my answer is just to probably not buy anything expensive on Etsy.
Yes. I had a terrible problem when I asked for a refund for a $2000 ring I returned. The seller--Nathan Nabat of Nabati Jewelry sold me a Sapphire ring. I returned the ring as it was tiny and only fit for a child. He never gave me the refund. Now he has the ring and my money. Etsy sided with this dishonest seller. This seller calls and yells in the phone because I contacted the BBB. I now contacted the police and filed a report. Luckily the police take this harassment very seriously. I filed a fraud report with the credit card company so hopefully that will help too. Be really careful who you buy from. This seller is an angry arrogant man. Best of luck.
Sometimes. I bought many great items on Etsy, but I also bought and paid for jewelry that was not acceptable. The photos were magnified 100 times which leads you to believe the jewelry is normal size. If you buy something on Etsy that is not what you wanted because the description was not accurate you are out the money. It can be really tiny or fine. Etsy sides with any dishonest seller and offers no customer support. Forget returns. Etsy will stop you from opening a case or fling a negative review. They protect dishonest sellers. His name is Nathan Nabat. He sells jewelry on Etsy. His company is Nabati Jewelry. Never buy from this seller. He cheated me and others and Etsy protects him. I returned the ring I bought and now I am out the $2000 and the ring. And to top it all off he is calling and harassing me. Police report filed yesterday. Good luck.
