I have just discovered eShakti and am very interested in ordering a dress. It would be a custom order but I cannot stand a tight fit and I tend to size up when I buy. If I want more ease in my garment, should I add a few inches to my measurement to be sure to get what I want?

Purchase a dress that is made with the knit fabric. It is flexible and much more loose feeling than the other fabrics.

If you do decide to add inches to the measurement, I recommend only adding 1-2 inches AND only add those inches where you like it loser. For example, measure your arms true to size unless you like it a bit lose. Measure your waist true to size unless that is where you like it a bit lose.

But honestly, I think you will find the knit dresses to be the best if you dislike tight fitting clothing! I also am not a fan and those are the dresses I wear most often! I have bought other styles, so I have other fabrics to compare it to.

Kellie,
Please do not do that. Please provide exact body measurements. What you can do, is to add a note in a specials instructions box we provide during the checkout process where you can tell us any specific such instructions - there you can tell us that you prefer a loose fit. Our expect pattern makers will take that input into account when they make the order. Our team will also acknowledge the instruction via a separate email. Thank you.

If you would like a looser fit you can add an inch or two wherever you want a looser fit. I don't like a tight fit either, and my dress fit perfectly: not too tight, not too loose.

I used EXACT measurements- get a friend to help you- and ordered 6 items which all fit perfectly. You don't need to size up unless you don't like the the look of the dress on the model and want it looser. I especially love that they want multiple different measurements for the bust area and the point of the bust- so the darts line up where they are supposed to.
