Question:

Trying to decide which company i should use as a fundraiser for friends who just had their house and car destroyed in a fire. personal belongings not covered by insurance. i was a little put off by the fees associated with gofundme. and started looking for other options. any suggestions on who i should use?

Answer:

Hey Melissa, Thanks for reaching out and great question. First off, CrowdRise has a high emphasis on fundraising for good, which sets us apart from most other general fundraising sites. For this reason, your cause for your friends who recently lost their home and car would be right in our wheelhouse. In fact, here are a couple of comparable causes which are already live and raising money on CrowdRise: https://www.crowdrise.com/mychancetosavemyhome/fundraiser/stephaniefontaine https://www.crowdrise.com/homesweethomehelpthisseniorsavehers/fundraiser/beverlypoole In terms of pricing, you'll never believe this, but for personal cause fundraisers like yours (projects not benefiting a charity) we offer Fee Free Fundraising. I'm not joking and this is for real. If you would like more info or any help creating your account or a new project for your friends, please email me at Quintas@crowdrise.com and we'll get you squared away in no time. Thanks and have the best Friday ever. Quintas

Question:

Answer:

Hey Heather,

Thanks for reaching out and awesome question. If you have an IRS-registered 501c3 organization, your page will automatically be populated on CrowdRise. This is set up through an integration with GuideStar.org. GuideStar is an official database of all U.S. based 501c3 organizations.

If you have an EIN, feel free to drop me an email at Quintas@CrowdRise.com and I can see if we already have a page on CrowdRise for your organization. Also if your org is only sanctioned in certain states, we can still get you set up with a personal account, which you can easily name to reflect the title of your organization.

There are a bunch of options and I'm ready to help you figure out which one is best for you and your fundraising efforts. Thanks again and have the best weekend ever.

Quintas

CrowdRise Customer Service Person

Question:

Can you raise money for someone else's unusual custody battle?

Answer:

Hey Christy, Thanks for the question and I can definitely help. Part of our Terms of Use states that we do not allow fundraisers on CrowdRise which are focused or rooted in custody battles or other legal issues. I would recommend checking out some other sites for projects of that nature. Sorry to be so mean about it. Best of luck and have a great weekend. Quintas

Tried to call the number listed on site and i got a generic answering message. is the number correct? 248-376-1395

Answer:

Hi - I never tried to call, but I can assure you that whenever I emailed, I got very prompt responses - amazingly prompt, in fact, and great support from their customer service staff. And I'm pretty picky about this stuff!

Question:

Hi we give jobs to homeless kids with "a hand up" we have a pretty decent network at jobs4homeless.org of a couple thousand... my question is does your platform give us exposure to a larger audience? thanks james bruggeman founder 4176194846

Answer:

Hey James, Thanks so much for reaching out and that is a great question. The most effective way to raise lots of money for your cause is to make sure you're spreading the word like crazy. CrowdRise is a platform, so we don't actively promote any one cause. Therefore, it's super important that you are the voice of your cause and are really good at getting your message out there. The great thing about CrowdRise is that we give your supporters the ability to join your fundraiser as a team member so that they can reach out to their support system and increase the visibility of your cause. So amazing. If you want any specific tips on how to get your fundraiser the most exposure possible, reach out to us at Quintas@CrowdRise.com and we'll be so glad to help. Standing by. Question:

Once i link my account do you take money out of it?

Answer:

Hey Randy, Falco here at CrowdRise and it was an absolute pleasure LiveChatting with you earlier. Just to recap our conversation, there's absolutely ZERO out of pocket cost of you to use CrowdRise and the only reason we ask you to link a bank account is so we can send ya' your donations. Be assured that it's all PCI Compliant (1000% secure) and that we'll never ever take anything from its balance. Feel free to follow up with any additional questions at Falco@CrowdRise.Com, I'll be ready to help with everything

Question:

Answer:

Hey Peter, Thanks so much for reaching out and I can help. CrowdRise gives you the ability to raise money for either a 501c3 charity (the funds will be sent to the charity directly), or for a personal cause (in this case, the funds would be deposited right into your bank account). It sounds like the second option would work best for ya. Also, no matter which fundraising option you go with, we do not require that you reach your fundraising goal in order to receive what you raise. So great. Could you shoot me a quick email at Quintas@CrowdRise.com so I can give you instructions on setting up a personal cause fundraiser? Standing by to help answer this any any other question in the world. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
