Question:

When i left crossroads best western motel in indianapolis in i gave the hotel a good rating, other than the average breakfast. when my credit card bill came i had been additionally charged $219. for a room i did not use. they first said their auditors would look into it. nothing. then they said it was a booking.com problem. nothing. i called back ten days or so was told he would look into it. a third call with anger in my voice got action. i have been refunded my money. it took too many weeks and calls by me. all the manage wanted was to get his $20 fee back from booking for the reservation, and put my need at the bottom of his list. was it indeed a booking.com mistake? you took the blame.

Answer:

Its nonsense for anyone to think that a hotel will take a booking with no security at all. You would end up with an empty hotel and no income. I wont take booking.com bookings any longer as their customer base is unreliable and got too many late cancellations and no shows. Rather not have them.

Question:

Is it a good idea to ring ahead for a booking made online? my partner is a bit anxious about a booking i have made for an appartment in spain,

Answer:

Yes absolutely ring ahead, it is always a good idea to confirm reservations you make online with a real person at the place you are staying. Better safe than sorry! If you made the reservation through booking.com there is a good chance it might not be what you expect. Online reviews and consumer report sites for booking.com are full of very negative reviews about the company. Good luck!

Contact your credit card company and file a dispute they will credit you immediately while they researched the problem and wait for booking.com answer. Be sure to upload any screenshots or photographs of receipts you may have when filing a complaint with your credit card company.
