Hi there
Does the consumer have to rotate the antenna when looking for TV channels or does it rotate on it's own? HD 8008 the best for living out of the city limits in a semi rural area?

No rotation needed, just set it and forget it!

They advertise and I receive 360 degree coverage giving me 36 channels 15' high. I'm going to put it up higher...

If I'm not mistaken your antenna is omnidirectional and receives
Channels from any direction. The key for HD8008 to receive many channels is to mount it as high as possible. Mine is mounted on a metal pole that is affixed to my chimney. Probably 50 ' off ground
And I receive over 70 channels.
