I used Chegg to help with questions that I was stuck on and let me just tell you the answers you will get are below par of what is acceptable since I was an actual paying customer. Now onto the big issue:
I first paid $9.95 for the Chegg writing subscription, wasn't too impressed with it at that point so I went to cancel and they offered me a good price of $4.94 (1 month) for the Chegg study pack. It was still useful to me for classes so $5 didn't seem all that much for a month. My plan was to cancel before the next regular payment of $19.95/mo. I ended up missing the cancel date and paid the $19.95. That was my fault so I don't blame Chegg for that. I unsubscribed from my plan that day.
I went to check my credit card today and noticed 4 payment from Chegg that were all on two dates, which was suspicious. I looked more into it and saw that I was charged $15.96 twice on the same day in October. I'm pretty sure the first $9.95 payment was charged to my bank card so that's why that amount isn't on the statement provided in the picture. I called Chegg and spoke to the representative, she explained that the $15.96 was apart of the Chegg study pack. So pretty much Chegg told me the good price of $4.94 (to get me to stay with them) was not just $4.94 but $4.94 + a random amount of $15.96. She also explained that that second payment of $15.96 was a holding fee and I was only charged the one payment of $15.96. The representative understood my frustration and gave me a refund of the $15.96 and $4.94 to a total refund of $20.90. (The best part of this whole experience was the call representative being calm and very respectful!)
Honestly Chegg is not worth the results you get. They are half $#*! answers that usually do not answer everything that you put in the question or just gives you a totally different answer of what you asked.
I was going to provide some of the terrible answers that they give you but when I thought about that I was already removed from the subscription. As when I was expressing my concerns with how I was charged an amount I never said yes to, the representative said that I would loose all access to my account subscription (that day) if I confirmed the refund, even though I paid the subscription of $19.95 and should of still had access to it till Dec. 5th. But honestly this whole situation is not worth my time and should have realized what a a scam of company this was sooner.
