I booked this car rental through AARP. Got a great deal on a mid-size SUV for 3 days for $73.67 total. We arrived at the shuttle pickup spot at Orlando airport and waited 30 minutes for the shuttle to show up. I called AARP to make sure we were waiting in the correct area and was still on hold with them when the shuttle showed up. They took us to a location about 10 minutes away to pick up the car. When checking in I was told I needed to purchase the EZ pass for tolls for $44.97. That I was not allowed to pay cash or credit through the tolls. They also looked at my insurance card and told me there was a certain coverage I didn't have through my insurance and I needed to purchase it through them (I rent a lot of cars and have never had to pay anything above what my personal auto insurance covers) That was an additional $38.19. My bill ended up being $156.19. I could have rented through one of the major car rental companies for that cost. I feel like I was taken advantage of by Zezgo, but also by AARP. Isn't part of their mission to help seniors avoid hidden charges and offer discount pricing on things. Also, when returning the car, I called the number on the rental agreement - the message I listened to gave me an address that wouldn't program into my GPS. I hit 0 to speak to a rep and got a message that nobody was available. I finally found another address on the rental agreement and made it there in one piece. Thankfully there was one seat left on the shuttle and I got back to the airport safely, but extremely stressed. The car itself was fine, a Jeep Renegade. It wasn't exactly mid-sized but we made it work.

I tried to book a hotel for a wedding in Orlando using theknot.com. The venue was full so I was going to hang up and book somewhere else. The agent at theknot said she was able to book my second choice for me at The Doubletree, so I let her. Three months out, I tried to cancel as my plans changed. They told me if I cancelled I would still be responsible for one night room rental (several hundred dollars) I thought I was calling the hotel directly, but it was actually theknot I was talking to. We begrudgingly made the plans work, however I mentioned it when checking in at the Doubletree and they said I would have been able to cancel my room through them - it was the "third party" that wouldn't let me cancel. I think that is terrible! The rep never gave me that information. I'll never make that mistake again.
