Maxmyspeed.com simply sells a registry cleaner, which in most cases isn't going to double the speed of your computer. There are many free solutions to these problems

Anti-Virus - http://www.avast.com Free Version
Spyware - http://www.safer-networking.org Spybot S & D Teatimer is good:)
Root Kit - Combofix from bleepingcomputer.com and GMER from GMER.net
Malwarebytes.org with the quick scan is great too
