I purchased a complete R1Concepts brake kit for my car. I purchased the BEST geomet rotors & pads + the hardware. After installation, I encountered very disturbing brake pedal pulsations upon use. The front rotors were "out of round" by several thousandths, I used a dial indicator gauge to check. I called customer service to inquire about the warranty. I OFFERED TO SEND THE ROTORS BACK. I was told I didn't have to send the problem rotors back, I needed to have a certified mechanic shop verify the warped condition using their letterhead and R1Concepts would send replacement rotors for free. I then asked why I had to use a certified shop in order to get my warranty validated. They then told me that was their policy and it kept people from getting free rotors.(understand, I OFFERED to send the rotors back so they could verify 1st hand the condition of the rotors I received). So I said to the customer service representative, "you mean you would take the word of a shop that spent no $$$$ with you and not the word of the DIY customer who TRUSTED YOUR PRODUCTS and actually spent their hard earned money with you"?... he said YES... He told me to drive to the certified shop with the faulty brakes, let them check the brakes. Ask them to furnish a statement verifying the faulty rotors using their company letterhead. I should send that statement to R1Concepts customer service department and they would THEN send free replacement rotors. I replied,"you want me to RISK driving my car with faulty defective brakes using your faulty supplied parts to a certified shop in able to use the warranty your company offers?". He stated "I have several people that do that ALL THE TIME". He also stated there are places that offer FREE brake checks all over the United States. I further stated when a mechanic shop offers a free checking service, they are politely expecting to get the work if they find needed repairs thus turning their free time invested into a paid endeavor. This is not the case with a DIY brake customer, he does the work himself to save money. A DIY customer who buys your brakes shouldn't have to ask a mechanic shop to do check something for free. The shop is a business, who is in business to make money and the mechanics have families to feed... it is RIDICULOUS to expect a certified shop to do something for free so an evidently WORTHLESS WARRANTY can be used. As I stated in my review title... A person who is trying to save money by doing his own work in all reality truly has ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY FROM R1CONCEPTS. BUYER BEWARE!
