If you have just a few items to sell on this site it probably would not be a problem. If you are a seller of ongoing incoming goods... AVOID... AVOID... AVOID.
WHAT HAPPENED TO ME:
I started selling designer goods on Tradesy. Their return policy states if an item is described accurately and the buyer wants to return it no fault of your own they can exchange their item and the item is not returned to you, you keep the sale. The buyer also gets to ship it back for free, so they can return willy nilly no cost to them. I started to periodically have items I have mail out new with tags in perfect condition come back to me "NOT AS DESCRIBED" when I called Tradesy about it I was not helped in any way. You are just Sh_t out of luck basically. I even had one very expensive bag have the shoulder strap ripped out and returned to me. It was clearly a perfect item in the pictures. They still had the nerve of returning it to me, not even considering my watermarked images as proof. Not living up to their bargain.
I thought well, if this is the worst that can happen no biggi once in awhile.
So I started adding more of my product to their site. In 18 months I sold $60,000 worth of goods and had over 1400 listings active.
So on a Friday evening I go to check orders so I can pull, package and be ready to ship for the next morning. All of my listings had been pulled down and my account suspended! With no one to call I tried doing their weekend chat, with no one answering their chat all weekend. Finally I got a hold of someone Monday and was told my account was suspended because they thought I had an item that was unauthentic listed. They would not tell me which one it was. I pointed out to them I had 100% feedback on Ebay and I had over 15,000 sales on Etsy and was a top 20 Etsy seller worldwide. I sent them links to both accounts and tried to reason with them about trying to find out what they were claiming was unauthentic. I also live in Santa Monica and would be happy to bring to them the item in question. They did not care about any of it. I am still trying to collect $5000. 00 tied up in my Tradesy account.
I think they are laughable numbskulls. Sell at your own risk. I may have to get an attorney involved to get my funds released.
UPDATE, three months later. I have been working hard to transfer all of these 1400+ listings over to eBay. Not that I trust eBay much more but I am selling 3 times as much on eBay than I ever did on Tradesy. That is what I get for giving an upstart company my business. I guess I stick with eBay, Etsy and posting on my own site.
