“Works pretty good.”

Milton N.
6/1/21

I have had the system for 2 years and it works pretty good. The only downside is when I change out the cartridges the water turns blue and doesn't taste that great for about 3 days. But it does seem to keep everything cleaner.

“Dissolved copper plumbing lethal.”

Matt W.
3/12/20

The most recent replacement cartridge turned all our water blue. The water tasted awful. Drinking one or two swallows caused vomiting and diarrhea. The color and taste did not diminish for 3 days, until the cartridge was bypassed. After bypassing, I tested the water for copper which remained at unacceptably high levels for another 4 days. Has anyone else had these issues? If so, is there any legal remedy?

Love my Nuvo Duo. Clean tasting water and even has easy maintenance! Cartridges are easy to get when it's time to replace them. My wife and I have an RO system as well and we prefer to drink water straight from the tap!

I've had a Nuvo H2O plus taste in my home for over 5 years. I chose the Nuvo over traditional salt for a few reasons. I don't want salt in my water, I didn't want to waste water with the salt system backwash, I didn't want to put salt into the city water, I wanted something smaller in my garage, I didn't want to have to plug it in and run electricity, I wanted something that would help my appliances, I also wanted something that would help with the chlorine taste in my water and salt systems don't do that.

The Nuvo H2O to set clear expectations for those looking (I am a licensed plumber) will not remove calcium from your water, it transforms calcium so that doesn't stick to surfaces. If water falls on a flat surface and dries you will see the white ring, but it wipes away with a damp paper towel vs hard water that has to be rubbed away with vinegar. It will descale your plumbing over time, not overnight. It will, by descaling, extend the lifespan of your appliances. Don't believe it? By the packet from Nuvo, take a before picture of your dishwasher and then take an after picture once you've used the Nuvo packet as described by the manufacturer.

I always know when it is time to change my Nuvo filters because my dishes begin to spot again and my water starts to smell like a pool! There is a dramatic difference in the quality of my water with and without the Nuvo.

Be mindful if you're looking for a Nuvo H2O, make sure you have a water softener loop. If you do, make sure that loop is tied into your kitchen sink or you won't notice a difference in taste at your kitchen on the cold side and you'll be disappointed. Make sure that your system is installed with bypass valves. The Nuvo does not come with an internal bypass so if it leaks or if you need to change the cartridges you will have to shut off your whole home in order to do that or to eliminate the leak if something goes wrong with the Nuvo.

Great water purification softener and my friend told me about it. You will save money just on cleaning supplies once you no longer have hard water.

I thought my water filter would have repair parts for a long time. I had mine for 7 years, they came out with a new model and there are no replacement parts. They offered me a discount for a new one, but why would I buy a new one knowing that they would discontinue all parts whenever it is convenient for them?

I really like how the system works and my BF and I got this a couple years ago. It is easy to install and works very well. No hard water build up on my shower door and that is what I cared about the most. The downside is the yearly cost of about $160/year. It is more expensive than salt filters and the initial investment is more too. The best part is the easy cleaning and install of new filters. They have little help over the phone and they can't even give you an estimate of the cost to install. It cost by BF $250 to install it so add that into your cost if you do buy one. You can do it yourself, but you had better be good with tools. Good company and I do recommend it as a filter system. Your hair will be amazing afterwards. Good hair + Clean shower... worth the $160 a year for me.

The cost of the filters really is quite affordable when compared to cleaining salt filtration systems. My only problem had nothing to do with nuvoh2o. The plumber who did the install had no idea how to install the system. It leaked when he was done and he had to repipe it all over again. Even if you call someone from their approved list of plumbers, make sure the actual plumber who comes to your house has done it before.

The system itself works great, so I have no problem with that part of it all. The installation isn't as easy as I thought it was. Maybe if you are a contractor you can figure it out. Watch the video first and if you actually know everything that can be done then it is possible. It is far from an easy job. It took my plumber 6 hours to install it.

Verified purchase

I've had this since Dec 2020. I live in central Texas where the water is hard. I had high hopes for this machine but it has performed poorly. I changed my cartridges regularly. It is not reducing any of the hard deposits in my water. I have had 3 different vendors out to check the water this week and my hardness rating is at 22. My shower door is covered in calcium as are my fixtures. I am replacing all my fixtures this weekend. I am getting a salt based system with a reverse osmosis under my kitchen sink. I have a Manor Duo unit that is supposed to remove smells and make the water taste better. The last few months I have had a horrible sulfer like smell coming through. I can't take it any longer. NuVo hasn't been able to help me. And, my house is only 4 years old.

Tip for consumers:
Do your homework. Ask a lot of questions. I did and I thought they knew their product. Lesson learned. I was not offered a refund.

The calcium deposits on my shower were completely gone after installation of the nuvoh2o system. The cost isn't that bad and I would suggest just buying the more expensive system and

The NuovoH2O system turned our house water blue and gave us diarrhea.

This was very alarming so I took it out and disposed of it. We will not use this system because of our very bad experience.

I bought the system back in July, we had a plumber installed it. We waited for the water to get soft a bout a week and nothing happened so I called to see what was going on I the person that I spoke said I had to wait at list 50 days to starts getting the water soft, so I waited nothing happened I call again they said they will get back to me nothing, call again no answer left a message, after about 3 weeks I got a call the lady said they were working to see if they could help, she was supposed to call back and after all this time nothing has happened, today I call again and the answer that I got was sorry but we only have 60 days guaranteed, but you could get your water company to test your water then take a picture with the results and send them to us. al this time they just been making sure the guaranteed expire. Could anyone tell me what I could do to return this product.

Product does not work as advertised. I even sent them samples as requested and they claim everything is installed and working properly however I still have calcium issues. Even after they sent their "scubber" cartridge and tested afterwards. Don't buy. Claim that if PH levels are low enough that product will work. Such a scam.

Be ready to return.

I purchased a Nuvo H2O a year or so ago. The concept sounded great and sound and I needed to deal with hard water at my home. I have used salt remedies before and this remedy sounded better. I really liked the idea of a 90-day money back guarantee too. Sounded like I would be covered if it didn't work.

I spoke with a salesperson at the company and they assured me it would work and that the cost would be minimal to have it installed.

Everything sounded great, so I spent over a thousand dollars to buy the system and a couple of additional filters.

I received it and quickly found out that some of what I had been told was wrong. The actual cost to install the system was something like $600. So, right there I was out significant money if it didn't work because I had to install it to try it. Wish they had not glossed over that fact. Keep that in mind when you think about their free return policy - it is not free at all and practically speaking, it would almost cost more to return it than to just keep it in place if it doesn't work.

And, it doesn't work. I have hard water that leaves deposits on fixtures. When I don't have anything that I use to soften the water, the buildup is very easy to see. Every so often, I go through the hassle of clearing off the calcium/hard water deposit buildup. Big pain. Well, when I started using the NUVO system, I cleaned off the deposits on several fixtures and expected to never have to do that again. WRONG. The system does not work. The hard water buildup came back just like before. Same problem - not solved at all. I thought I might be wrong, so I cleaned the fixtures off again only to find out that for a second time, all of the buildup came back. And, I did it a third time. I can clearly tell anyone interested in this that it does not eliminate hard water buildup.

The other problem - by the time you figure all of this out, you've already spent a lot of money to install the system, you're long past the 90-day period, and you don't really want to pay the money to have the system uninstalled.

Do not buy this system. If you really need to get rid of your hard water, then go with the tried and true salt-water systems that are cheap and at least in my experience, they work.

Hope this is helpful for potential purchasers of the system.
