I have to rave about this company. I first bought glasses online thru EBD a few years ago with no problems. Wonderful! Time came again for a new pair and with the prices so low I treated myself to sunglasses. The regular pair came with no issues, love them! The sunglasses, however, came and were not done correctly. I contacted them and without question the order was fixed and sent right away. Well, the replacement pair came and again, they were not right. Again, contacted the online help, thinking maybe they were going to charge me since this was the second time, but NO! they were wonderful. No problem with a replacement and helpful suggestions from the online Cynthia I talked to. Can't say enough good things about this company, they stand by their product for sure!
This company is devoted to customer satisfaction. They offer full refunds including shipping charges where the customer is not satisfied and bend over backwards to achieve satisfaction. They even permit customers to adjust the frames and still get a refund. Many of their frames, especially the sunglasses, look expensive. Most frames are quite deep, consistent with the current trend of "geek chic." I prefer shallower full rim frames more classical than trendy. This company deserves credit for its good faith and fair dealing. I think EyeBuyDirect.com is the best of the online optical businesses of its kind.
I have to admit my first pair of glasses from them were somewhat dodgy. The plastic case they came in was crushed, a lense was separated from the frame, and I thought well it was a good deal for a pair of backup glasses.
Over time I have ordered additional glasses and the most recent pair was ordered back in August 2015. I LOVED those glasses. A beautiful frame, very sturdy, and I even have people come up to me and want to know where I got them. I have a very tough prescription and it seemed spot on to me.
Recently, I messed up my glasses and had literally put a duplicate order in my cart when I thought it might be interesting to contact them and see what can be done. Eyebuydirect was very helpful, they worked with me on a more than fair set of replacement glasses and even offered to let me select a different frame if I wanted.
I was so moved by their support and their developed business sense that I had to seek out an opportunity to report their great support. My advice, if you want some cheap backup glasses, then be advised the frame will appear cheap. If you step up to their higher quality, then that is what you will receive.

I ordered a pair of reading glasses and 5 weeks later they came in the mail, completely wrong lenses. This was the second order first one was fine. Now they have no recollection of my order and no records of it at all. Want me to send a copy of my perscription and now want me to pay more because they screwed up. I called and asked to speak to an associate who would not listen to a word I said and tried giving me a speach that has been taught to them to say, I asked for a supervisor and was put on hold for 5 more minutes then she came back and said she was sorry but the supervisor was busy. Very poor customer service and horrendous record keeping. I will never order a thing from them again. SAVE YOUR MONEY....
Customer service was great from Day 1. After signing up for the newsletter, I never received a discount coupon code as promised, so I emailed EBD. By the next day, they mailed me the coupon code. I had my eye on the $6 "Doc" frames in light purple and the $9 "Delaware" frames in floral. Lo and behold, Delaware floral frames sold out. I contacted customer service again via FB, and they responded within a couple hours to tell me if/when the frames would be back in stock. 2 days later, there they were with a few back in stock.
I ordered regular prescriptions in the Doc, and prescription gradient sunglasses with the Delaware, with anti-reflective, UV, anti-scratch in both. Total purchase after the discount and with standard shipping was $48. They sent emails every step of the way, let me know how long each step would take to complete, and what to expect next.
11 days later, my order arrived. Glasses were EXCELLENT--perfect fit, lightweight, exactly as pictured, and spot-on prescription. I get compliments on them all the time, and they are the "favorites" of many (I ordered from several online glasses stores for the first time.) No one can believe the Docs were only $6 frames, as they are in no way "cheap."

It was my first time purchasing glasses online so I was a little concerned but they came out perfect. They fit just right too and i received them in Exactly 7 Days the only thing i don't recommend is to pay for the tracking number because they automatically Email you to tell you in what process your glasses are and i read that if you do pay for the tracking number you get a Fake tracking number so save your money and don't pay for it. I hope everyone else has a great experience if it is your first time purchasing glasses online.

i have a lot of bills to pay and then the doctor told me to pay $300 to $150 for the prescription glasses, so i went to eBay and order from china like 3 pairs of glasses since it was so cheap but turned out they will either send me the frame too big or too small and some they looked cheap like its gonna break when u wear them, like literally you can hear the sound but finally a friend told me try this website, at first i was worried that since the the frames were really of a low cost but i gave it a shot and mine took like a week an half for me to receive it but finally got it and i was looking at the box of the design might probably cost like $15 or something and this is absolutely gorgeous, i was shook for a bit and trust me i don't like to write reviews but the glasses quality is just amazing that it made me write this review and i am going to buy more for my family from EyeBuyDirect.com, big thanks to them again the glasses are amazing.............
This was my first time buy glasses online. I was pretty iffy about it because when I first ordered I made a mistake and I called right away to fix it before they made the glasses. The lady reassured me it would be okay. Sure enough they came out perfect! I would recommend this website to anyone who knows they're prescription and wants awesome prices for glasses. Shipping is great as well they came within 2 weeks as promised.
Do yourself a favor and don't do it. Customer service response is non existent. Efficiency not a snowballs chance in he##. Tracking numbers yes they will give you one about a week before it actually ships. So unless you plan to live to be a 110 and you have all the time in the world to sit and wait for something that may or may not arrive, by all means order from them, I can review on the glasses because I don't have them, I have been waiting 7 days for a call from customer service, I think Ill die before that happens. Glasses arrived and they were shipped from FRAMES DIRECT here in Brooklyn where I am living, Eyebuydirect refunded the entire cost of the glasses for my trouble. Great right? No not really..... wrong prescription in the left eye of the glasses FINE IF MY RIGHT EYE IS THE ONLY EYE THAT I HAVE but I have two, a right one and a left one. All of this is after I sent them a copy of my Dr's RX who BTW also made a pair of useable glasses for me. Eyebuydirect was SIMPLY an extra or backup pair of spec's but unfortunately not so SIMPLE for them.
ONE DAY AFTER I PLACED AN ORDER, I KEPT RECEIVING CALLS FROM A CALLER WITH AN "UNKNOWN" AND "PRIVATE" NUMBER. APPARENTLY IT WAS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WOULD LEAVE A MESSAGE THAT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND COZ OF THE ACCENT. THE NAME "EYEBUYDIRECT" IS POORLY PRONOUNCED. WHEN I CALLED THEM ABOUT IT, THEY ADMITTED THAT THEIR CALLS WOULD REGISTER IN MY CALLER ID AS "UNKNOWN" OR "PRIVATE." I SAID , THAT'S WEIRD COZ THE MESSAGE LEFT IS ASKING ME TO CALL BACK, AND IT'S AN "UNKNOWN" NUMBER. THEY DID IT 3 TIMES IN ONE AFTERNOON EVEN AFTER I ALREADY CALLED THEM BACK ABOUT IT AFTER THEIR FIRST CALL. A SIGN OF THEIR LACK OF SYSTEM. WELL, SUCH INEFFICIENCY PLUS THE NUMEROUS NEGATIVE REVIEWS I READ (WHICH I SHOULD BOTHERED TO READ FIRST, STUPID ME!) NOW SCARES ME AND I AM THINKING OF CALLING THE VISA TO BLOCK MY ORDER.
I've used Eyebuydirect before in 2011 and they were prompt and delivered great quality glasses in good time.
So I ordered again a new 2 pairs of glasses in February 2016.
Again, the delivery time was prompt, about 2 weeks and I'm loving my new glasses.
The lenses are great and the frames as described and look/feel robust.
I've never had a problem with eyebuydirect and would recommend them without any doubts. Oh and they're REALLY cheap too. :)
I ordered my first pair and it got delivered but I could not find it in my mail box. I called and within a day they started a new one for me and it came ASAP. I just got my second pair today and can not wait to get more. Will highly recommend eye buy direct to anyone. lovely glasses too
I ordered my glasses on the 16th of November. They said they shipped it out on the 23rd of November (lie). The tracking number they gave me didn't work for a week. Which cause of the holiday I thought, no big deal. But when it did finally work it said they didn't send the tracking information out until the 27th. Not even the package, just the information. So when I asked them thru email they gave me the complete run around and didn't even answer my question as to why this was ok for them. Ridiculous. Now I'm scared to see what the product is even like after direct lies like that. Yep, they still aren't here.
This is the very first time I have ordered eyeglasses online. The prices are so incredibly cheap compared to getting them in person and I was afraid the glasses would be very inferior; they are not. I got darkly-tinted (just like I wanted) prescription sunglasses with very thin lenses for $58! The frames are almost identical to my $500 glasses I bought at an optical shop two years ago. I could not believe when I put them on right out of the box and they needed no adjustments. They come in a clear, magnetic-closure box with an glass-cleaning cloth. I am very pleased with EyeBuyDirect and plan on using them when my mom needs new glasses also.
I have been a loyal customer of EYEBUYDIRECT for a couple of years now. I have had a prescription change and went straight to them to order new frames. Got a great pair, but I noticed on the lenses that the prescription numbers were etched into the lenses and not buffed out creating a blur in my vision where the numbers are. I contacted customer service who immediately stated that this is normal process for glasses and there was nothing they could do about it. I immediately went to the frames I purchased and wrote a review stating that the etchings on the lenses were not removed, the conversation I had with customer service and they stated, in an email later, that they would replace them for free. I quickly took advantage of this offer and two weeks later I received the new glasses, only to find the prescription numbers etched in the lenses. NOW when I try to contact customer service, they blew me off each time telling me this is normal for all glasses and when I go BACK to try to write a negative review, it NEVER posted and no one has ever contacted me for the fix. They have lost my business and I'm making sure everyone knows of the decrease in quality and customer service this company has become.
I ordered a pair of glasses and upon receiving them I noticed that I had a little nick in it so I called the company and customer service was beyond superb they emailed me a shipping label to send it back and sent me new glasses I will never go anywhere else to buy glasses but from them I can't speak highly enough about their customer service best customer service I've ever ever dealt with
ordered a pair of glasses- i ordered there top of the line frame which were $69.00 plus the lens- they fell apart- broke in less than 2 weeks- and they say this is the best frame they have- they are sending me a replacement pr- hope they last more than 2 weeks- will never buy here again
The only reason I'm taking off a star is because they give you a fake tracking number, which I've seen on other reviews, and seems shady and pointless.
That being said, I've very please with my purchase. I placed my order on 10/18 and received various emails updating me on where the glasses were in the process, and finally an email saying they've been shipped on 10/22. Again, the tracking number didn't work, but I received my glasses 10/27, so it was pretty quick. The prescription seems accurate, just from the few minutes I wore them to try them on. I don't really care for how they look on me, which is a risk you take when you buy glasses online (they were much smaller than they looked on the model), but since theyre sunglasses I got mostly just for driving, I'm very pleased with what I got for only $30.

I always thought it was nuts to pay $300 for a piece of wire and a couple of pieces of plastic (i.e. eye glasses). Then I found EyeBuyDirect. Easy to use, and for $60 (bifocals) or $100 (progressives) I can get great looking eyeglasses that totally work.
But this week, when I dropped my glasses in gravel and then someone stepped on them, and I called EyeBuyDirect thinking I'd have to start from scratch and instead was told replacements just cost shipping I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

This is my first time buying glasses from online. I wasn't expecting much but thought I would give it a try since the prices were significantly cheaper than buying from a store. I was surprised by the quantity of the glasses. I bought two single vision glasses with a total of around $72 and I like both pairs very much. The frames are nice quality and the prescription was on point. One thing I didn't like and like one the reviewers mentioned was that they didn't provide me with the correct tracking number. The number they gave me was invalid but my package still arrived within two weeks of ordering. I didn't buy any "complex" prescription glasses (progressive etc) so I can't validate the quality of those but for those who need single vision prescription glasses and are looking for cheaper but still good quality options check them out!
First time purchasing from this company for my glasses. When I received them, the lenses were significantly distorting my vision. I reached out to customer service to return them and get a new pair, and we determined that I had entered the prescription incorrectly. I sent them the correct prescription, and they sent a new pair out to me quickly completely free of charge. Customer service was extremely helpful and understanding; I will definitely use their service again!
I have purchased from this company three times now. Both of my children wear glasses and you can't beat the prices. This company is incredible. Not only have they saved me a ton of money they've saved me time. The process of looking and choosing frames is beyond easy. I love, love, love my glasses. To top it all off, I even ended up scratching the lenses on a pair, they replaced the frame and lenses for free! - the $6(shipping and handling). Frame was lopsided. A screw top was missing. The lenses were so thick it was a joke - I've paid less at another company for a much lower index and the lenses were thinner than these ones I paid more for a higher index - eyebuydirect says their supplier must use thicker lenses (I doubt that and if so it's a rip off to charge more then). Worst of all - the prescription was totally off - I couldn't even see out of them, it was like they'd filled the prescription in just two spots so if I twisted my head I could see clearly out of one tiny part of each of the lenses - and the spot that appeared to have prescription was in a different position in each of the lenses! An absolute joke. I've now read many reviews saying the same thing - how are these people in business? Then you have to return them because they made a mistake with prescription AND the frames are faulty, but they wanted me to pay return shipping overseas and a restocking fee! BEWARE! Never buying through eyebuydirect again and will actively warn others away

I contacted them last month and said that my Rx was wrong in my new glasses. (Honestly, it was my fault.) They said the frame was out of stock but I could order a new pair. I decided to wait because I love my frames so much. I never contacted them back.
Today, in the mail, I received a surprise corrected pair. So Impressed! I am submitting this review wherever I can. They try hard to please.
I ordered two pairs on march 7. Got no news from them for two weeks so I sent an email requesting to cancel my order. What did you know! Three days after sending this email, they "shipped" my order, but two days later, the tracking number is still unverifiable. Figured out that its a fake tracking number. This is a pathetic trick out of the old book in a cheap attempt to sway me from canceling. Never buy from this company
I bought boulevard frames with prescription lenses from EBD. The frames are the cheapest quality plastic I've seen. The screws won't stay in place. I'm tightening them every other day. I didn't get the upgraded lenses so they get oils on them that won't come off with hit water and soap. Why even off such crap lenses. I ordered new glasses from another online vendor and they are great. Much heavier plastic and I got the better lenses all in for less than my EBD swap meet specials. EBD sucks!!!
I read all of the negative reviews after I had placed my order and had a sinking feeling the glasses may never arrive or be the wrong prescription. I was happily surprised that the prescription was perfect on all three pair. I ordered the prescription on Feb 23 and they arrived on March14, 2015. It seemed like a long time, having broken my only pair, but technically it was 15 working days.
I've purchased several pairs of glasses from this vendor. The first time was a pair of single-vision computer glasses. No problems. The second time was a pair of progressive lens. The frames were disappointing, but that's a hazard when buying from a picture on a website. The third time I decided to order the frames with the idea that I could return them to have lens put in afterwards. So much run-around I gave up and just ordered a new pair with progressive lens. The glasses came, but then I noticed that they weren't properly ground. The focal point was much too high, requiring me to peer through the top of the lenses instead of straight through the middle of the lens. I complained--run-around. "Send me your prescription", as if that had anything to do with an improperly profiled lens.
Apparently it's true--you get what you pay for.
If you just need cheap glasses for a simple prescription, I think they will do fine, but if there is a problem, don't expect much. They ain't Apple. For more complex prescriptions try Lenscrafters or some other brick and mortar place where they will insure your satisfaction before charging your credit card.
I have purchased maybe 10-12 pairs of glasses from Eye-Buy-Direct and the service is excellent. The quality of the frames is above average and I have nor has my daughter ever had issues with the lenses. The prices are great when compared to buying at the local stores, Lenscrafter's or even COSTCO.
I bought glasses here, they were light-weight, so I worried that they wouldn't be as good of a product as that which I could find in the store (or at the mall), but they have been holding up EXTREMELY well (and I have three kids, so it can get rough at my house!). Inexpensive, they have great customer service and so nice.
I bought some a pair of glasses from them Summer 2011. They included a case and wipe cloth. These glasses continue to last and are still in good condition. They didn't take a long time to arrive and I got them for under $15 total with tax and shipping. I plan to buy another pair from them soon and I have recommended them to all my friends.
Just received my order; delivered to my door. What can I say? I am pleasantly surprised. I can only compare this to my experience with brick and mortar eyeglass shops. So, here goes...(EBD=EyeBuyDirect  Frame selection – EBD has a much better selection in every category to include designer brands.  Customer Service – EBD is very easy to reach 24/7 and has live chat and email options. Very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Better than any of my experiences with store personnel. The doctor that did my eye exam messed up and I had to submit a revised prescription to EBD and there were extremely understanding and helpful.  Delivery – Some stores can make your glasses in an hour. And you PAY for that convenience. Most stores will ship them to your door and that takes 10-14 business days. EBD does a much better job of sending status updates and tracking numbers. I prefer my experience with EBD.  Quality of product – EBD frames and lenses are better.  Fit – EBD frames did NOT require adjustments. I took them out of the case and put them on, ready to go. Store bought glasses have always required adjustments and even return visits to have them re-adjusted 24 hours later…  Other – Let’s talk about accessories. EBD sent my glasses in a nice hard case with a microfiber lens cloth for each pair! Stores typically don’t provide hard cases, but will offer to sell you one.  Appeal – I like my EBD frames better. My Girlfriend gave me a quick thumbs up and told me to ditch the new store bought frames. Guess that sums it up well.  Value - If you like paying more money, go to a store. EBD is the best value and I saved a LOT of cash with EBD.  Overall – I am much more pleased with EBD than any other experience with eyeglasses.

I ordered the Robbie frame (with the white handles) on 9/19/14. I have received them on 9/29/2014. The glasses are in excellent condition! I love them! I will never ever ever go to Walmart of anywhere else for glasses. I got these babies for 15.00! They always have sales and coupons. They also give you loyalty dollars which you may use at checkout. These people are the business. Do not go by these reviews b/c I sure didn't. I went with my budget. Check them out!

So I buy (directly) a pair of glasses after dealing with this website's hellacious interface. They arrive and despite theoretically being the same size as glasses I own, they are vastly larger, and darker than the picture implied. I like the lens quality but I look like an owl with the runs. And they're matte, which I don't like, this was apparently a feature of only one color, the one I ordered. So they graciously agree to exchange them for a $16 fee. So the next pair comes, and again even though I downsized as much as I could, they're still too big for me. This pair has terrible lens quality, it feels like the two sides were reversed. I ask about the incredibly tedious interface that loads every pair of glasses I try on whether I like them or not into the compare window, which gets loaded up with sixty ... never mind, you have to experience this mess for yourself. IT person tells me that doesn't happen. Well ok, apparently I'm super special and able to do magic, because I can't make it stop happening. So for another $16 and another 5 hours of effort I order a third pair, newly listed and apparently both the right size and color. Now this time they promise to be extremely careful and analyze what went wrong with the lens quality compared to the first pair. So they came today. The lenses are the same sucky quality as the second pair, and they frames are matte, which the description didn't mention, which I was specifically making sure to avoid.
All I can say is, three strikes, you're out. This company did try to help me - except for the snotty IT person - but what they offer is junk and no amount of trying is going to turn junk into jewels. If you have a big face and a simple prescription ebd might work for you, but I'm through with online glasses.
ETA: so I put a review expressing my dissatisfaction up on the website, and guess what, I go to their link to verify that I wrote it and I get a bad gateway error. Imagine that. Just lost another star, eyebuy.
-- and for those feeling $60 was a "hefty price", I paid $143 + $32 exchange fees + $12 in shipping fees back to them, and this didn't include the transition outdoor lens I wanted, which they couldn't honor with extra thin lenses (why not? other companies do. Guess I shouldn't complain, since they're terrible anyway at least they weren't $50 more.) $187 for something I'm only going to wear if I'm home alone and don't need to do any close work. Ridiculous, I could have gotten that for $35.
It is my first time doing a review and buying an eyeglasses at eyebuydirect. The first glasses they sent I was the one who needs to blame I put the grade wrong both eyes. So i sent them back and give them the right grade. AND I WAS EXPECTING TO RECEIVE THEM TOMORROW 9/17 BUT NAH WHEN I GOT HOME FROM MY INTERNSHIP I WAS SURPRISED IT WAS HERE ALREADY!! I am not impressed. Especially already having had experience with another, FAR superior online eyewear company (coastal.com), eyebuydirect was really disappointing. The only reason to buy from them is if you absolutely cannot spend more than $30 on glasses and are in no rush whatsoever to get them. If those two conditions are true, eyebuy is probably a great resource. I ordered two pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses. Nearly a week after my order, I received an email (at 3am) that the lenses I'd paid extra to have put in my sunglasses wouldn't work with the frame. I authorized them to change the lenses to a lower quality lens, but had to remind them to refund me the additional money for the change. I ordered on May 20th, and received them on June 13th. In contract, I ordered three pairs of glasses from coastal the day after my eyebuy order shipped. Both orders arrived on the same day. The coastal order is MUCH higher quality than the eyebuy order, and even though I have to return one pair (I didn't read the measurements correctly and they're too tight), I'm not put off by that because Coastal return policy is amazing. In contrast, I'm unimpressed by one of the pairs of glasses Eyebuy sent me, but given their return policy, I'm just going to stash them away and probably never wear them. For what they cost it's not worth the hassle to try to return.
I would not recommend EyeBuyDirect to anyone, though I understand the appeal if your funds are extremely limited. You definitely get what you pay for, but you can get much higher quality and better service from Coastal for only a little more money.
I placed an order and had issues with the glasses, had to return. I was going to honor and buy a new pair. I sent in the originals withing 10 days along with original packing, cases and cleaning cloth. The lack of customer service and cooperation is crazy. They received my glasses but would not refund without a tracking number supplied my me, and then send me an e-mail to my e-mail asking for my e-mail address to confirm. Not a very professional company or one who seems to want to take advantage of their customers. In addition the new glasses I received the new pairs I ordered are not what I expected either, but not going to try and return these and go through with this BS again.
Very satisfied , ordered 2 pairs, everything was perfect frames prescription progressive lenses, order a pair of sunglasses to my prescription, love them .. since then ordered a pair for a friend, and another pair for myself to keep home just in case. Coulnd't be happier with these glasses. It took 16 days to get them in Canada.
Bought 2 pairs of glasses - one was a straight 6.95 - no frills single vision - they are great, however the other pair that were multi-focal not so great. To see long distance I have to tilt my head down and look through the top of the lens. Like the other reviewer I get to pay shipping and a restocking fee for them to fix the issue. Went through their email system for support. The English is not great but I guess that's the state customer service these days. If you want cheap single vision glasses then I would definitely recommend but expect a crap shoot for anything more complex.

It was in that status for about a week.
The actual postage was I think 2 days, which is very good.
I DID ring and POLITELY enquire as to the status of the glasses after about 6 days when it was in the selecting lenses stage, it moved onto the stage the next day. I don't know if that was a coincidence.
