Called to inquire what all I needed to do other than reporting fraudulent 2024 IRS tax filing using my name and possible use of my SSN. The Gentleman who took my call was very respectful and gave me a list of contacts to make.
I almost got pulled into a scam on the internet. I got a call from Walmart asking if I had ordered something that cost $971.64. I said no and was transferred to the OIG, and they began asking me questions likes my address and the last 4 of my SSAN. That is where I became suspicious. The next few questions they asked the Gov already had at that time I said I would turn this over to my lawyer and hung up. I called IDshield and spoke to a gentleman who said It was a scam and everything they asked me would not hurt me, finatually. He assured me they would look into it. I felt much better after speaking to them.
