The concern you have could be linked to a venue not selling enough tickets for an event and closing an area of the venue. Any tickets sold in the closed area would get upgraded to one of the open areas by the venue. This would happen normally on the day of the event. If the venue provides new tickets to their clients, then these tickets would be forward along to the end user of the tickets.
