Hi Randy. Per our terms, you must provide a postal address where you reside (P. O. boxes or similar arrangements are not permitted). We do this to prevent fraud and duplicate accounts. You can read more about this here: http://www.quibids.com/en/help/terms.php

Yes, you might save a few bucks but what is your time worth? Also, did you really want or need that item? Once you're engaged in a bidding war it’s not fun nor a good use of your time. Life is too short to be "stuck" in front of a computer screen for hours on end. My advice: if you have family, invest your time there, if you don't have family, invest your time to start a relationship, by far this will be more rewarding to your well-being overall. If you do decide to bid on something, make sure you absolutely "need" it and are willing to pay full price (happens a lot). Remember, on every auction there are many more losers than winners and QBids make a ton of dough doing this. For example an iPad Air2 sold for $58.89 or $3,533.40 in real cash! It’s $599 at the Apple store all day long. PS - read the shipping terms re. Liability. I won a TV and was liable for the condition upon receipt if I didn't reject shipment. The delivery service will not wait for you to check out the product to reject shipment if it is bad. So you are on the hook for return shipping costs and the replacement product is per QBid's choosing. As you can tell I didn’t enjoy watching the 10 second clock count down over and over again for literally hours. And the winning price was “way over” the highest price in their “statistics” - very common.

Well, considering he is making the option of getting it cheaper possible by being willing to take this chance, you Deb are the one who is being ignorant.

If you go into the auction of buying the item you want anyway, why not try getting it for a lesser cost. And if you dont win your auction you are still planning on buying it anyway what are you out? Its all a chance you are willing to take..

The site is having problems with cash flow. Almost all products with a $50 value or greater are being delayed due to cash flow. It has been well over 14 days and I still have not received my $250 in Lowe's gift cards. I received other cheaper items in about 5 to 10 days such as an ice cream maker and a $15 itunes card. Be careful. If they go bankrupt, you will not get your product you won.

Oh, I forgot to mention, yesterday I won the bid for an iPod Nano and was even able to choose the color. Bids, shipping all included $32.00! I have wanted one for so long, but didn't want to spend the $ especially since I have and iPhone, which does virtually the same thing. I just wanted the convenience of not having to take my phone in/out of protective sleeves when going to the gym! What a bargain! I was wanting to buy it anyway. Its like clipping coupons. Don't clip/bid on something you normally wouldn't have an interest in. If you want it bad enough you will be more likely to be in the true running for the item. Others will bid and then disappear. Best of luck!

I just filed a complaint to the FTC and the Oklahoma General Attorney's Office. Thanks for the info Mike H.

I won a cell phone at their auction website "Samsung Blackjack Unlocked GSM Phone". Never received the item. I tried to contacted their customer support and get an answering machine all the time. Finally tried different number and talk to Erin. She said she would talk to her supervisor Ward (No last name). I also contacted the vendor supplier (Wireless Emporium 888-725-7575), I was told this was a fraudulent order. Order has been cancelled twice already. Let's raise our voices and get this scammers behind bars!

What everyone has to understand is that Quibids preys on the consumers that are looking for the so-called deal. There is no need for me to get deep into the mathematics of the business model, everyone here has done a great job with that. I more want to touch base on how the mathematics tie into the psychology of Quibids.

Most users are not drawn to their site for $25 gift cards or bid vouchers. I mean, c'mon... I did just invest $27 - $180 (or alot more in some unfortunate cases) buying bid packs. Would I really just want to purchase a $25 gift card for $1 after spending at least $27 on bid packs? The reason I use the gift card as an example is because I am going by QuiBids' so called motto: bid on items you intend to/ can afford to buy. That way if you lose the auction, you can still buy the item(s). So, let's just assume I actually purchased the bid packs just to buy a gift card for $1 worth of bids. If I lose the auction, I can still buy the gift card outright for $25 and apply the $1 worth of bids I initially invested to the end cost. So, now I pay the retail price of $25 + $2 for shipping. But the thing is, I cannot now convert my remaining bids I did not use back into cash - only used bids can be applied. Which means I essentially paid $27 (gift card + shipping) + $26 (dollars worth of bids left over), which totals to $53 for a $25 gift card. Well many will argue the $26 left over in bid packs is pretty much money in the bank that you can just use on the next purchase. Trust me, that $ (or bids) is as good as gone. I'll explain later.

With that said, this is where the psychology of Quibids come into play. Most users are attracted to the site for the electronics or high priced items that they generally would not buy due to high retail prices. However, the thought of possibly getting an ipad for $10 is the biggest magnet, not the gift cards. Quibids surely knows this too. It is actually a pretty genius technique, but I will not applaud them. Furthermore, the REAL consumer (probably 95% of users), not the gift carders, will at some point will take a gamble and bid on an expensive item in hopes of capitalizing on a GREAT deal. Realistically, most users go to that site for "the great deal" not the "gift card" or "bid voucher." Unfortunately, some may even win! Yes, they are even more unfortunate than the one's the never win. Why is it unfortunate? Think of it as a trip to the casino a couple times. I sit at the blackjack table and start with $27 and leave with $200 twice in a week! It may seem as though I am winning and getting lucky, however, I am realistically the biggest loser because over the next few weeks I start losing every time I go. One day I lose $27, the next $45, $180 and then I may win small, then proceed to l go on another losing streak. When it is all said and done, at the end of a one month period I went from winning (getting a great deal) the 1st week to losing the next 3 consecutive, blowing my profits, and losing couple more hundred out of pocket. Not to mention, over the next 3 months I win only 2/40 attempts.

In a nut shell, this is the business model of Quibids. Quibids is the House in this case and the users are the gamblers. Occasionally Quibids will actually dish out a deal. This is only done to keep the consumer coming back and used as a way to give other consumers the false sense of "maybe I can win that same deal." When realistically, we all know there are few winners that actually walk out of the casino and even they become the biggest losers in the long run. The biggest winners are in hindsight the one's that just don't gamble at all. The house will always win. And what people do not realize is that the House (Quibids) loves it when you win. Because you will keep coming back and maybe with a few friends the next time around. There are very few that can win big and walk away/ STAY AWAY. Point being, if you want to use Quibids, think of it as a gamble. If you happen to win big, cash out and leave; and not only leave, ban yourself! Take $27, give it a spin. They say only bid on what you can afford to buy.

I say only gamble with what you can afford to lose while shopping on Quibids. Because c'mon! Who the hell is not on that site trying to win that one item they have been dieing to get their hands on. The gift cards and small items are all there for show, just so it does not seem like a gaming/ gambling site. DO NOT be fooled, this site is manipulative and it does a great job of hiding it. Like I said earlier (with a grotesque look on my face), the site is genius. Or maybe consumers are just FOOLS. One of the two, who knows... you tell me (cooperj2002@gmail.com). So, the next time you buy a $27 or $180 bidpack, consider it as a day in the casino. If you find the right slot machine, cash out and RUN! The reason I say slot machine is pure and simple. You have no idea of the outcome, not even the slightest especially with the Autobid system. They are not Bots or Employees, it's an autobid system. Reserve prices are set on most items and if an auction is ending with a reserve not met then AutoBid will have a fake user outbid you. So, next time you see continuous bids squeezed in down to the very last secondly repeatedly, just know that the site reserve for that item maybe has not yet been met, so don't waste your time! This site puts on a veil and acts as though they are taking losses, but there is no loss whatsoever. The more bids they can entice users to place, the more money they make off items. Don't be lured into thinking you are a winner/ just got a great deal. The House owns you. It will be just a matter of time before Quibids starts offering comp dollars (QuiDollars) to preferred (hooked) users -- just wait and see. GOODLUCK AND HAPPY GAMBLING!

Well I know not everyone can win and those that lose complain so I can understand the comments here. It took me 2 months to learn how to win on Quibids. And I win 60% of the time I bid so this shows you can win with patients. If you pay $27 for 45 bids and bid on a $25 card do it from the auction page only. Click on the item and it will take you there. It shows how many bids you have used and you savings. When you get close to 0 savings then stop and go to the bottom of the page and use buy it now. You will have a few bids left over for the next try. I know they could do a better job of explaining how to win but they really want you to use buy it now because they make profit on the items sold. I'm sorry to all those that lose on Quibids but you should read about it and observe how to win before you jump in Money first. Take it from me. I lost $200 the one month before I learned how to win. Now I've made my money back and more. Good luck if you try again.

This is the definition of a "bait and switch" scheme. They lure you to sign up by showing you auctions for big-ticket items like Mac computers, big-screen TV's, and cameras. After you sign up and start bidding and buying more bids, for a while you still have those big-ticket items available to you.

Then suddenly, usually once you have already spent some money on bidding for more bids (another of their schemes whereby you use the bids you paid for to bid for more bids, ostensibly at a lower price), the big-ticket auctions disappear. You still have plenty of junk you can bid on, just none of those items that brought you to the site.

Initially, like me, you may believe it is just coincidence, that the items will be available in the future again and that they just ran out. I though that, until I followed the come-on ads again to the site and discovered to my dismay that there were lots of big-ticket auctions happening- they just weren't available to me. They already had my money!

STAY AWAY!

Fake - that is what Quibids ARE - they use fake news sites to advertise and their CEO has promoted other scams using fake news websites (acai diet pill scams for example), fake testimonials are used for Quibids and they are also major league spammers:

http://www.eiscams.com/uncategorized/quibids-bid-at-your-own-risk/

http://www.eiscams.com/spam/quibids-spam-black-friday-apple-ipads-23-74/

Also, I've noticed that several people have bid beyond the value of items in auctions that i've participated in... how is that possible? I've watch the number of times they've bid (at. 60 cents each) vs the value of the item. I've noticed it a few times. Yet when I bid up to the value of an item the auction stops me from bidding any further.

I have been collecting data from this site for analysis and after collecting more than 3000 ids and last win, I did not found one that have won an Ipad, Tv 40" or abobe, any laptop, none of the big prizes. The wins are gift cards, bids vouchers and some small "junk".
Also, between 2:00 - 6:00 AM you will probably not se any big prizes (like Ipad, TVs, computers, Xbox...) in auction. Only gift cards and other small things.
This site is a total scam and are ripinng of people's money. Of course it is a very clever idea. When people realize they already lost at least 40 bucks.

The BBB is a joke, I have not found one Quibids case where the client was satisfied. BBB accredits a business when the company responds, it does not mean the complainant is satisfied with the response.
When I see a positive comment about Quibids or a Television newscast commercial of praise, I just consider it another attempt to deceive people. The internet is flooded with ads and newbies get hooked accordingly. It pays to advertise,
So until Laws are implemented to stop Penny Auction Scam Websites, to stop false advertising and misrepresentation, penny auctions will continue to flourish, and why not as.
The real percentage in penny auctions as I see it 99% of bidders lose and at 60cents a bid there is a fortune to be made.

@nusa n - How could they "not be affiliated with the Oklahoma City BBB" if that is where I found their address and info? They are registered with the BBB O. C. But, then again, the BBB itself, is a scam. Anyone can pay the fee to be an acredited member! I would say to start writing letters to the major networks. I'm sure they already have looked into this in some way. Just a matter of time before this ends up on Dateline, 20/20...

I "won" an auction the end of December 2010 for a laptop computer. Final price $86 and change, with shipping it came to $103. Wonderful deal, however, weeks later no laptop, no calls no anything except form letters, except for an endless string of form letters saying it is coming, its on the way, but we do not have a tracking number nor can we say when you will receive your merchandise. Now, lets do the math. The retail price for the laptop is $865. The final price was $86.56. So considering that the number of bids was 8656@ 60 cents per bid, that comes to $5193. 60 next add the $86.56, not taking into consideration ther shipping fees, that comes to total of $5280. 16. I paid the money that I was to pay within minutes of the auction ending. I received email back saying they received payment and would send the merchandise and to expect it within 10 days. Well, weeks later, and over a dozen of form letters with several excuses why I have not received the merchandise, you guessed it, no laptop. Weeks later. This is sure sounding like nothing short of fraud. Despite numerous attemps at contacting their "customer service" no replies except the string of form letters. The BBB has been contacted and soon a suit will be filed against the company. Oh, by the way, I was participating in this auction for well over 6 hours, I myself made over 150 bids. In their defence, I have won several other auctions, all minor items, well under $50 each. Each time they did in fact send the minor items. The one major item they have failed miserably and not made any attempt of even communication with me at all.

I will not make such a claim without giving my true name and email address.

Another reviewer, T. H. contributed this review: http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.quibids.com#709

No phone # for QuiBids listed on their entire web site, or anywhere in their 12 page response to Bank of America, that resulted when I requested a 'charge back' of my $60.00. Within QuiBids response was "ask this customer to contact our customer service, requesting a refund for any unused bids." So, I called Bank of America and asked them if they might have a phone # for them as I could not find one. They found one and said they would call for me. Then they came back and said they were place on hold for the next available agent, they then gave me the phone #, told me to press 0 and to call back if I was unsuccessful. Here is the phone number for QuiBids, good as of 2/16/2011. 405-253-2038

And If You Look At Something Like An Power Drill That Someone Finally Won For $37.87 That Was Worth $255.00. But If You Look Deeper Into It, Quibids Made Tons Of Money Off of The Bidders At 0.60 Cents A Bid. Every Bid The Price Goes Up One Cent. Sounds Good, Not Good. Ok If You Multiply 0.60 And 3,787 Bids You Get $2,272.20. Thats how Much They Made Off Total Bids For That Product Although You Got It For A $37.87, They Made $2,272.20 Off Of It... Its A Shame, This Is Why The Economy Is Shot. Im Gonna Protest On Capital Hill Against This Company With No Phone Number...

Quibids is a scam. To win somethings you will pay more then its price by the other auctions. Second you will never win over 50$ because they have own groups who will not let you win any auction and they use different names in the same big auction to let you think that somebody go somebody come and win.
You will not have any chance to win if you do not believe that you will lose your money, their policy is to suck all the money of the all the participated members. You can win 10,25, and 50$ and any voucher bids but u will never win 100$ or more and you will pay more then what you will win

From the Grant Thornton audit report:

"Quibids maintains effective controls to provide reasonable assurance that bids are placed by bona fide users and does not manipulate the bidding process to inflate the bid price or affect who wins the auction (no use of bots, shill bidding, or bidding by employees).

Quibids maintains effective controls to provide reasonable assurance that winning auctions and “Buy Now” orders are fulfilled (i. E. shipped).”
