Yes it is that bad. Stay away, you never know if your booking will go through or not. They charge ridiculous service fees so if you dont have the correct type of card (mastercard, visa, debit, credit etc), they will charge you upwards of $20 minimum to make your booking.

Never use Momondo/BudgetAir for your booking! They can forward your search to any third-party booking sites like BudgetAir.CA and get poor end-user support and higher price. On my recent booking, the cost went up over 300 CAD from the invoice amount due to Budget Air used USD for the conversion. There was no indication of the exchange rate or using the non-Canadian site for booking during the payment; you won't come to know until you see the bank statement! I heard similar stories from several frustrated friends! I contacted BudgetAir.CA, but their customer care executives were rude and offered no support and challenged me to cancel the booking with a fee of $70 per person. Think twice before you book next time. As there are several such hidden costs compared to direct booking with any airline, and the booking vendor like BudgetAir never takes any responsibility for additional fees. I hope It helps.

Dont use Budget airway. Customer Service is pathetic and if flight cancelled the money is gone.
