Case Description:
SBT and Sales Staff uses unlawful practice of using customer owned parts as a resell item. They use a customer owned part as a way to up sell customer
I sent my motor to SBT under the terms of a rebuilt motor. I was instructed and completed certain steps to complete the rebuild. I completed SBT's criteria for a rebuilt motor and even paid for full shipping round trip. SBT didn't complete the terms of the agreed service and changed there policy on rebuilding my motor verses a OEM replacement motor. This was not the agreed terms and was changed. This was confirmed by a sales manager Justin. One of the biggest concerns for any consumer is the practice of removing a part and reselling the same part to the customer. Per SBT reman engine policy whatever is not stripped off the motor is discarded. But what is really done is those parts are resold to customers as new/like new parts. SBT charged me $29.99 for my own PTO coupler. Which I have picture documentation of. I would like for SBT to refund me all extra parts they charged for and also include an itemized list (as previously requested) of all things removed off the motor. I will continue to reply to this matter until SBT is willing to stop these unethical business practices.

Unfortunately, Mr. Taylor’s presents a distorted story – as he has on Facebook, BBB, and various other places he has chosen to try to spam the company. The engine was NOT sent in properly in July, as we make clear on our website. No agreement terms were changed, only Mr. Taylor’s interpretation of them. Our policy clearly states that nothing should be left on the engine, with PTO specifically called out, as we cannot guarantee that it is not damaged during teardown (as most parts left on are because they were frozen on the engine). The disagreement with Mr. Taylor on his PTO was resolved months ago by refunding him for the refurbished PTO coupler he purchased. The PTO coupler was the only thing on his check in sheet, which we provided to him on his request. He then blamed his mechanic for additional missing parts that SBT did not receive. We tried to help Mr. Taylor find various parts that he would need from our recycle bin as he apologized for his previous flaming of SBT and was in a tough spot. 2 weeks later he then shifted the blame to SBT and gave us a constantly growing list of parts that he then said we had (although they would have been in plain sight and would have been on the check in sheet, which again, we provided Mr. Taylor). Mr. Taylor chose to selectively ignore the documentation, and continued to blame SBT and threatened to spam all forms of reviews if he didn’t get what he wanted, which is what you’re seeing here, on BBB, etc. All of Mr. Taylor’s complaints ring hollow, as he has shifted his story to us and provides limited information on his reviews in an attempt to make it appear like SBT has done nothing to help him. The PTO dispute was resolved in Mr. Taylor’s favor, he was charged for no other parts, SBT has tried to help him find parts, and all we have gotten is a growing list of demands and threats. We have informed Mr. Taylor that we will not be providing his list of free parts that he is demanding in exchange for him not blasting us on all the review forums he can find.
