Recently I ordered 3 transmission rebuild kits. One BK163DWS kit for a 95-00 Tacoma R150F and two BK163WS kits for Toyota 85-94 R151F transmission as well as three NK-AX-15 kits which are the needle bearing kits that this company lists for Jeep, Dodge and Toyota Aisin transmissions. The total order was $1450. 00Cdn. After the order was submitted, I did not even get an acknowledgement of the order, 8 days later I sent them an email inquiring as to the status and stating that if the order couldn't be filled to please cancel the order and refund my money. The response was lots of apologies and the hold up was the NK-AX-15 kits were on back order. Two weeks later I received the order, another $202.00 in Customs duties and taxes and I start rebuilding my Tacoma R150F transmission. The replacement bearings are OEM Nachi and Koyo (no problem there), however with the synchronizers, though good quality I had a couple of issues. The input shaft synchro had a different tooth shape and did not smoothly mesh with the #2 hub sleeve and 1st. Gear synchro (only 3 piece synchro in my R150F) was totally different. This new synchro was genuine Toyota, but listed for a newer 6 spd. (05 and up) Tacoma and there was no cross reference for a 5 spd. I again contact Customer service (with pictures) and after a lot of research, I included the proper Toyota part #'s (as a reference) for the synchros. The response was that they stood by their parts listings and that they could not supply the OEM Toyota synchronizers. If I was dis-satisfied, I could ship them back with a return authorization and they would refund me $200.00 US and give me a $50.00 US store credit. So that is what I did, (another$22.00 Cdn). I then sourced the OEM Toyota Synchros (from al lover the world $350.00 Cdn) and start putting my transmission back together, all of the other needle bearings in the NK-AX-15 kit fit perfectly and all goes well until I try to install the counter 5th. Gear needle bearings, (not even close). In the meantime at the three weeks mark since the returned synchronizers were received by Transmission Parts Distributors, I send another e-mail to customer service about my refund... no response. A week later when I discovered the needle bearing fitment problem, I send another e-mail (with pictures) and I see that now on their website, I have a $50.00 US store credit, but no refund!
The store credit is useless as I would never buy anything from these guys again! It has been over a month now since they received the synchros, still no refund and realistically I don't expect to get one! A Better Business Bureau complaint is probably useless as this is a U.S. company and I live in Canada, so this review is in hope that someone else will not go through what I have,"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY"!
