Roomiematch is a basic screening information service. You go online and answer a detailed questionnaire about your lifestyle cleaning, guests, bills, interests, budget, etc. They review your answers. If your responses are logical/reasonable they accept your application. You will then start receiving emails from the service of other screened people's questionnaire responses. They will send you emails of everyone who is actively looking in your geographical area. They will not filter out matches based on budget. If you find a person(s) that you think are a good match for you. Then pay $20 for a one year membership and you will get all the emails they sent you again but this time with each person's contact info. $20 is a relatively low price for 1 year of service. You can stop the emails at any time and also restart them within your 1 year period of subscription. Don't bother paying a subscription until you find a person that you think is a good match for you.

Yes, you do need to do some work. Yes, you need to make sure your ISP doesn't send the emails to your spam folder. Yes, sometimes the people you email will not respond but other times they do. Finding a place to live or renting out a place is not a simple process, especially these days.
