AVOID AT ALL COST! This company is evil. I called to cancel my Spectrum internet before the next billing period was to begin. The representative I spoke with kept trying to get me to change my mind about cancelling. I had to keep repeating to them that I just wanted to cancel my internet service. It was bordering on harassment because I just couldn't get them to accept that I was cancelling. I finally said "Listen, I've already started an account with a different server – so, it's a done deal", and I ended the call. I returned their equipment a day later and got a text from them saying thank you for returning our equipment.
A little over a month went by and then I received a bill from Spectrum for 2 months of internet service. I was very upset and called and demanded to speak with a supervisor. I spoke with a supervisor named Joy (if that was even her real name). She was very unprofessional. I told her I had better things to do with my time than to keep having to call Spectrum to cancel my service. Her response was that she had better things to do with her time as well. Nice. She told me that when I had called 2 months earlier to cancel, that the call had been disconnected before the cancellation process was completed. She said the rep would have needed to ask me an outright question about if I was cancelling and I would have had to give them a direct and outright response saying yes, I was cancelling. She said that is their policy and procedure. I told her that call had not been disconnected and that I had repeatedly told the representative over, and over again that I was cancelling my service. Joy told me she would personally take care of the matter and put in for my cancellation and she would back date it to the date that I had originally called to cancel, so that I would have a zero balance. She said I would receive an email confirmation. I finally received an email, but it showed she had put in the date that I spoke with her instead of her back dating it to the date that I had originally called to cancel, and therefore it showed I still owed them money. I was beyond angry at this point - I was furious!
The following week I put in for a day off from my work. I drove 30 minutes away to the nearest Spectrum store and talked to the manager there. He sympathized with me and even indicated that he realizes the company, and its representatives, and their policies, are inefficient, and lack customer service skills. We exchanged emails and phone numbers and he said he would see what he could do. He told me if it wasn't resolved within 2 weeks to contact him again, and he would try another route. It was not resolved 2 weeks later, so I called him again. He said he was going to try something else and if I didn't see it resolved within a day, to reach out to him again. A day later I checked my account online and my balance was FINALLY zero! I was so relieved. I could not believe what I had to go through to cancel my account and get my balance cleared. I will NEVER EVER use Spectrum again. NEVER! This experience with them made it clear that they cannot be trusted to do right by their customers, and I had been with them for more than 12 years. They have NO loyalty and NO respect for their customers. There are other options out there and better businesses that know how to treat their customers. Spectrum is NOT one of them.

I switched to T-Mobile internet & I am very happy with them.
