I thought Consumer Cellular was for Seniors - think again. They must feel we have endless pockets for the charges they add. I had a charge on my bill that I overlooked (it was for DATA which I thought UNLIMITED);
When my calls started transferring DIRECTLY to CC, they told me I hadn't paid the $7.19 (!) charge for extra data, so they cut off my phone service.
Now, I have medical problems and need the phone for Drs., problems etc. They REFUSED to restart my phone until I paid them the small amount!
The month before, they did the same thing as they did not receive payment on the DAY it was due.
Never heard of any company doing this. Ended up making a double payment in May - which comprised my $$$ balance for June. No amount of conversation (when I could get through after being on hold for upwards of 10 minutes) would change their 'rules'.
Today I finally paid (reluctantly) the $7.19 which they said was for
Extra DATA. Seems they neglected to inform me they charge for 'extra' data; their advertising says "Unlimited Talk, Text at no extra charge." Well, you can see why other Seniors are also complaining.
I could go on more, however, I'm sure this message will resonate with the many Sitejabbers out there. BEWARE of Consumer Cellular unless EVERYTHING is spelled out. DATA is charged for EVERY notification you receive (even if it's SPAM), and for the time one spends online answering programs (data). Go figure.
