About 3 months ago I used this service to get access to a Vet for my dog who was having an allergic reaction.
For a $35 dollar opportunity and a $5 sign up fee, I thought that to be much cheaper than a true vet visit.
The vet was very pleasant to talk to and was definitely trying to help my dog and I out. At the end of it all, that conversation probably saved me a pretty penny at the vet.
The problem was that $35 sign up was actually a non-refundable subscription. I feel as though when I was signing up, it wasn't overly clear I was signing up for a recurring fee. Maybe some of this was the situation I was in, concerned for my dog, that led me to overlook some of the fine print. Regardless I get my statement the next month, and there is an extra $35 charge. I quickly find my login credentials and cancel the membership. Then I reached out to the customer care to see about a refund, turns out the fee can't be stopped and is non refundable.
I want to say the service I had was great, I just feel like it is kinda crumby business practice to hide the auto-renewal aspect, then not let it be dropped.
