Content is monitored mainly by "leads" who are volunteers and exercise their own personal biases or don't review content at all. Libelous remarks about neighbors are allowed to remain published with no recourse to have them taken down other than a time consuming process of contacting the website directly and wait over 24 hours to have offensive content removed. Political whining and badmouthing elected officials is commonplace and leads are selective in removing such content, depending on their own political views. The site is good for reuniting lost pets with owners and reporting crimes to neighbors. Not much else.
