"Holy Clothing has quite the devoted fan-base and that is because on styles, sizing, fabric, customer service and shipping the company delivers. I have been buying Holy Clothing since 2005 and this brand now accounts for about 7/8s of what's in my closet, and for what I wear on about 6 days out of 7. Be warned! Buying Holy Clothing is addictive. When you find an item you really like (for me that's the Catriona maxi dress and the Nicolette maxi skirt) you will want it in ALL the colours.

Holy Clothing celebrates women of all sizes and makes clothes for the larger sizes that are NOT polyester, NOT all sleeveless, NOT of shapeless and uninteresting designs, NOT in drab colours. This is a very RARE thing and much appreciated! (Larger ladies, you have fought the good fight, so you KNOW! Tall ladies, these maxi dresses really are maxi, and if the maxi is still not long enough for you, there are tall sizes also).

The fact that Holy Clothing recognizes the many different body-types there are (petite, tall, S-5X), is an expression of how personalized everything is that this company does. If you become a Holy Clothing regular customer you will get notices from "Janice" in your inbox. I have never had to return anything that I have bought, but I have had queries about sizing and have used the "ask a question" interface on the website. You get a real person writing you back, and when I think about the workshops where this clothing is made, I imagine a lot of Indian women (fairly paid) making my Holy Clothing with that same degree of personalized care and attention toward every stitch and dye-lot. In some cases if a style isn't offered in a particular colour Holy Clothing will make you a custom one, given 30 days and a $30 surcharge. I don't know of many companies that will do that!

The best thing about Holy Clothing is that while you go to work or about your daily life in these clothes (getting complimented left and right) you can pretend you are a heroine in an Arthurian legend, or one of those wistful women in the pre-Raphaelite paintings. For people who love those things, Holy Clothing allows you to express your love by your personal style. Some of the gowns and capes may be too costume-like for daily wear but the pieces I mentioned (Catriona, Nicolette, Tesha (another of my favourites), or Robin, can go anywhere.
