This place is a hidden gem in the woods! The picture on their main page does not do this motel justice - the front of the motel and MANY MANY updates have been made since the new owners bought it in June 2015.We booked a cabin and it was so adorable and the bed was extremely comfortable (I have major back problems). Having a kitchenette was a great plus too. It was just the right size for my husband and I. It had vintage charm plus newer amenities. I could have stayed a week or more and we are already planning to come back in the spring - I'll be asking for the Bear Den again! It was also VERY quiet whereas most of the other motels along that route had people with quads and big noisy trucks at them. There are 2 beautiful lakes just across the street and also a very nice restaurant in front of the lakes. Lots of places to walk or hike nearby. I highly recommend this place to anyone that likes quaintness, the outdoors and great prices! The owner called up on our phone to let us know where to find the key, etc since we were going to be late checking in - you don't get personal details like this at the chain motels!
