I contacted on 6-1-2020 What I thought to be Canon Helpdesk Toll Free # *******777 and spoke to James Scott X-104 regarding a printing error on my Canon printer. He came onto my computer and informed me that I had numerous virus's that required them fix plus buy some new ink cartridges. The technician (James Scott) told me the various prices for a one year plan - three year plan - five year plan and a lifetime plan. He originally stated the lifetime plan was $350 but would reduce it to $299.99 because I was a senior. He came onto my computer
For almost one hour and added about 6 different programs. When he finished he emailed me a bill (but prior to that explained where to send the check to ******* Douglas Rd. Suite ******* Johns Creek, GA *******) I said do I make the Check out to Canon he stated NO make it out to MIC Support - I questioned why no Canon and he stated they do repairs for Canon. Okay I said and wrote the check - I held onto the check for one day before I started to investigate the company - after reading the reviews I was very nervous so I call Best Buy and had the Geek Squad come out and undo everything they added to my computer and restore it back to 5-23-2020. Then I called the real Canon Support and asked them if they subcontractor their work to MIC Support she assured me that Canon DOES NOT subcontract any of their repair work out. I explained the lady that I had Googled Canon Helpdesk and all their logo came up with photos of various printers, faxes etc. she then informed me to type in the phone number *******777 of course it came up Tech Support Scam. She along with Geek Squad stated do not send them $299.99. I assured them I wouldn't when I called the phone number that James Scott used to call me several time on 6-1-2020 regarding things he was adding to my computer he used the number *******427 I called this number and got a technician that you write in your questions to. I wrote the above information and he asked me twice if I'd sent payment I assured him I did not and he replied "suck $#*!" I thank him for his reply and said now I can photograph your reply (which I did) and the he replied "Go ahead - $#*!" needless to say I was shocked at both of his replies. I have turned this over to the fraud unit but it seems like there is very little they can do. NEVER SEND THESE DISGUSTING PEOPLE A DIME.
