This is a scam that some larger companies try to pass off as a "gift." However, they get paid to promote these magazines as a "gift." Oftentimes they convince the consumer to take a survey so they can collect extremely valuable consumer data, or to appease an upset customer.
This "gift" has a cost, though, and you will not even be capable of realizing for a whole year. This is assuming you pay close attention to your bank statements. Mags. Com hopes you will not notice and is how they keep most of their "customers."
Assuming you notice the charges, it's very difficult to figure out who to even contact about all these surprise lifetime automatic renewal magazine subscriptions. Once you track down who is charging you, you will have a very hard time cancelling. They cover themselves with all kinds of fine print BS.
This should not be allowed, but I guess scammers are gonna scam.

Tip for consumers:
It's a scam. I'm sorry if you got tricked into this too.
