Just an update to my review... I've come to realize that ND is kind of a risky website to take part in. They require your real name so there's no anonymity. Increasingly, there are more and more arguments and insults and complaints and people getting all worked up. And some people are breaking the rules and not using their real name, so they have anonymity, but I don't. I no longer feel safe posting anything that even might possibly offend someone in some way unintentionally. I don't feel like I can be relaxed on ND and I have to watch everything I say/write very carefully because it would be very easy for someone to find me and do whatever (assault, kill, vandalize, harass, etc.). I've had 2 instances where for some reason I was singled out and personally attacked (directly named and specifically insulted in the threads) and it really put the fear into me. I had done nothing wrong. ND did not use to be like this a few years ago.

Great website and concept but needs to be improved

I've noticed that each person has a neighborhood map based on their address. That person can only see posts from others who live in that neighborhood area. But I saw that the county (local gov't organization) joined ND and posted... and they were able to get replies from all over the county, not just a handful of neighborhoods around their physical address. In the cases of missing pets or humans or natural disasters or whatever... we should be able to reach large areas like that. ND is too restrictive when it comes to who can access posts depending on where they live. My friend lives about 4 miles away in the same town as me with the same zip code, but we can't see each others posts because for some reason we're not in the same "neighborhood" on ND. Whereas my parents live about 8 miles away in the next city/town over with a different zip code and for some reason they ARE in my "neighborhood" and we can see each others posts. It makes no sense, and sometimes it's very frustrating.
Also, there should be an option to attach photos when private messaging someone.
