From its constant censorship in its comments section to its consistent, out of touch articles that take the "edgy" angle for a gaming website, PCGAMER is the absolute worst. Once, the website was utterly concerned with the goings-on in the world of personal computing. These days they are more interested in "woke" agenda-driven reportage. They are a non NPOV website, packed to the brim with agenda pushing writers who are, for the most part, completely out of touch with their readers.
It's such a shame because they have fallen so far. PC GAMER spends far too much time and effort reviewing non PC related "social" problems going on around the world as of 2021, whilst leaving out the details actual PC gamers want from games reviews such as how the game runs, why it is good/bad and what makes it different from what came before. Their score based review system is also embarrassingly used and without justification. Any website that still uses the percentage system over a single digit out of ten scoring system (or just a good review for that matter rather than either) shows how out of touch it is.
On another note regarding "reviews", some of the scores they have given to great games (i won't mention specifics as too many to count) have created a significant backlash in the comments section. So they promptly lock said comments section to stop any discourse of their reviews by readers. If PCGAMER now rate a game down, you can bet on steam it has a "very positive" review rating.
Last but not least, their overzealous advertising method, with its forced "Please subscribe to use by newsletter or click the "x" before you can carry on reading, along with overzealous placement of advertising, makes the website pretty much unusable. It is like a gamers version of the awful British Daily Mail. (see uploaded picture for how much of a mess it is)
It's become so bad I moved to IGN. That should say it all.
